Reposting this part from my precious comment:
My heart just sank. If he threw up and hyping himself up the way he’s doing rn, it could mean that he’s tricking the teach, because he wants something from him. So he’s going along with the kiss to lead him on but he’s not gay so that’s why he threw up.
Edit and additions to the rest:
And also, think about the title of this manhwa, “The Hounds of Sisyphus”. Sisyphus cheated death and was sentenced to roll a boulder up a hill for eternity. Guwon is Sisyphus, remember the boulder on top of the hill in their village, that he showed the teach once? Everyone in the village are his hounds. If we wanna be negative and cynical, him giving Jinwoo a necklace could be his way of giving him a collar, since Jinwoo confessed he likes him. So he officially collared up the teach as his “lead hound/main bitch”.
When I first read this chapter I got all the feels. I was so excited, giggly and happy because the teach finally confessed and dared to kiss him. Then I thought it was so cute when Guwon gave him a beautiful necklace. The chain has a little heart clasp and the ring looks like it’s from the LOTR, it looks elvish and so pretty! And then my heart sank and I felt so confused and betrayed. So ofc, I, like everyone else, immediately panicked and my mind started spiraling and I could only think of the worst outcomes.
But now it’s been two days and I can think of some more explanations and theories that are not all bad/negative!
If we wanna be negative and cynical, it could be that Guwon is really putting on an innocent persona/mask and acting. If we look back at Dangerous Convenience Store, everyone kept calling Ahjuicy the bestest greenest flag ever. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved Ahjuicy and the way he loved Joonie BUT he wasn’t green at all, and it’s not because of what he did for a living, he had major issues with communicating. The man left him for 4 years without ever telling/contacting him and one day he just showed back up in his life and expected everything to go his way immediately. So the same recipe will be applied to Guwon and this story. He will be a devoted golden retriever hubby to the teach but there will also be some angst in their journey.
I don’t personally think that Guwon will turn out to be a dangerous/psychotic major “red flag” (so sick of this term btw, as soon as someone makes one thing that isn’t to someones liking, they’re immediately considered red, we’re not supposed to be absolutely perfect and flawless you know).
So what other explanations could there be to him throwing up after kissing the teach?
Firstly, I’ve made comments before about how I think that Guwon is not clearly all human. In the prologue chapter we saw him getting up from under the rubbles, the world was in chaos, everything was in shambles and there was an earthquake. I interpreted it as Guwon coming up from the underworld because the earthquake had caused cracks in the grounds, making it possible for him to come up. (When I read the prologue it gave me Dear Door vibes!) The parallels of the legend of Sisyphus with the bolder in the story and in the village. His blackout tattoos and stitches, childlike innocence and not having enough knowledge about certain things. Some people called him a himbo in the beginning and that he was stupid but he’s not stupid! He doesn’t know some things because he’s clearly not human! It’s his first time in the human world! If he was stupid, he wouldn’t be such a quick learner and a competent leader that created a full working village. He is either a divine entity, a demon, a god, a zombie, an undead or a Frankenstein’s monster like creation (because the blackout skin and stitches could be some form of necrosis and not tattoos). His memory loss could be linked to him losing them either because he was killed and lost them all, or because he was created so he never had any to begin with, or it was “nullified” when he entered the human world.
Secondly, this entire time we have never seen him eat or drink or sleep! Does he sleep? Maybe he doesn’t need rest? Does he ever eat? If yes, then what does he eat? Does he consume animals, humans, zombies or something “magical” for “his kind”?
He could’ve thrown up because maybe:
- His body is running on nothing, he needs his special food/elixir but he hasn’t been able to have it for some reason, either he’s been too busy to take proper care of himself or it hasn’t been available, or both!
- He was nervous after the kiss, love, stress and nerves makes us and our bodies do some crazy things.
- That’s just what “his kind” does.
- Or a combination of all of the above!
He asked the teach: “you really have no idea how much I like you, do you”? I believe he really does like him and was honest with him! Ever since he brought him to the village, he blushes every time he’s with the teach! HE LIKES HIM! COME ON!
I saw someone suggest it could be that he was allergic or reacting to him in a negative way (because maybe a zombie/whatever kissing a human would cause such a reaction) but I’m not sure because they kissed in the previous chapter also and this didn’t happen then? And when he gave him “mouth to mouth”? Or maybe he did those times too and we didn’t get to see it? Or maybe it was because it was with tongue and saliva this time? Hm, idk about this part … I think he mostly threw up because of the reasons I stated earlier.
And lastly, him hyping himself up in front of the mirror. People saw that as a negative and narcissistic thing but it doesn’t have to be. Maybe he was genuinely happy and surprised that the teach likes him as back much as he does, and that “he still got it” (even though he’s a virgin, lol). Haven’t we all had a moment where we’ve been “feeling ourselves” so maybe he did as well?
And also, this could be exactly what the author wants! To throw us off the loop. To make us doubt him and ourselves. To see everything in a different light from before to enhance the suspense until next week to then suddenly be like, surprise, he is actually a puppy!
Sorry for the long text, I’ve never been good at being short (● ̄(エ) ̄●)

Great analysis! You've thought a lot of things that i couldnt imagine.
My bet it's that he isn't human and thats why he reacted that way (some kind of phisical response to something new). Also he might be innocent and don't know a lot of human things and customs but he also feigns innocence so his true nature doesnt get discovered. Also i think he lied about his memory loss (just a hunch).

Thank you so much! ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
Yes! We don’t know yet what he exactly is but he reacted that way because that’s what “his kind” does. I think it was in the prologue chapter where we could see that the zombies/undead also threw up! So it’s definitely linked to that and not to the teach himself.
I agree! His innocence could be that he’s innocent (and maybe that it’s his first time in the human world so he’s learning the ropes as he goes) but as much as he actually is a little inexperienced in some things, he’s also feigning innocence as well!
And he absolutely could’ve lied about the memory loss! Either because it’s unpleasant/traumatic (like Jinwoo’s with his dad, SOMETHING must’ve happened) or because as you said, so his true nature/intentions don’t get revealed!

Thank you so much! (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
I was so sad and confused two days ago! I had already listed him as one of my favorite 2D husbands, right after Dooshik, so I almost felt like a fool. But a little time healed those wounds, lol!
Me too, it’s gonna be bumpy, that’s for sure, because it’s the same author for DCS, so I’m ready. But also not

The author’s little mascots are so cute! xD I can’t wait to get more Jian x Jin content next season and it’s starting with a bang, Jin rimming Jian! I know that Jin will be quite a “forceful” lover where he’ll go at it pretty rough but I really hope that he also kisses, caresses and worships Jian all over because our baby needs some beautiful, attentive loving :’) Jian and Mieum wearing the little lingerie sets, argh! Now I wanna see them in sexy lingeries xD

I thought Tae-Oh had already recognized who Dobin is after he got drunk at the hotel and said he was his therapist and he saw his fuzzy hair?!

Nah, he just realized dobin was his therapist and we only saw Tae Oh having a recollection, a memory he remembered during his childhood. Some kids don't remember some things from their past and considering the early chaps, he went away to another country so thats also a factor. Dobin having fuzzy hair and Tae Oh rubbing it was what triggered the memory that was 'forgotten' and this last chapter would be pretty much the main trigger at least if ever to remember those memories. Idk if I make sense but yeah, I'm also not saying this in like a rude tone or something, pls believe me.

I said it before and it keeps getting confirmed little by little, our daddy Guwon ain’t human! I love how fast he picks up on stuff, listens to the teach like he’s his sensei, wants to implement his learning quickly and how honest he is! Gaaaah! Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Friday’s are the highlights of my week because of this manhwa, Our Sunny Days and Swallow You Whole!

Is Yeonjoo’s mother dead and the granny took him to visit her grave or is she alive but gave him up to the granny? And has Haebeom talked about his father before? I can’t remember that. Also, once again we’re getting cockblocked every time we’re close to getting sexy time it’s either cut off and not continued or skipped, come on author-nim

I love Guwon so much, he’s the biggest golden retriever gentle giant and smoking hot! I have some thoughts and questions after all the chapters ….
I’m getting such bad vibes from the doctor and the rude girl. First of all, the doctor has told Guwon he’s a doctor and everyone in the town knows him as that and presumably calls him doctor to keep up the act but his tag said veterinarian. Second, the vet and the rude girl became really uncomfortable and stiffened up as soon as he showed up and scurried away. I don’t think it’s because Guwon is someone they fear, because on their way to the picnic, a townsperson merrily chatted with Guwon and the vet was very friendly with Guwon in chapter 2 in front of Jinwoo, also, the kids absolutely adore him! So I think the behaviors of the vet and the rude girl are very sus because Guwon seems like a boss that everyone loves and don’t necessarily fear.
Jinwoo said (to us) that he flinched and reacted that way because he got a little afraid of Guwon when he killed that “maggot” up on the mountain, BUT, the flashback Jinwoo had right before he swatted his hands away, was from JINWOO’S/ THE VICTIM’S POV! When Guwon killed the maggot, Jinwoo was sitting down, far behind Guwon. That one panel flashback was from the POV of the victim, so he didn’t react that way because of what happened on the mountain, he reacted that way because something clearly happened to Jinwoo before he got hit on the head. He also attacked Guwon with a knife in his sleep! That’s another very sus behavior! Was he really attacked by a burglar? Another maggot? Was he attacked by his father as a human? Did his father turn into a maggot and then attack him? And he couldn’t remember what happened to his father when Guwon asked him, his trauma is clearly linked to him somehow!
In previous chapters there were several panels where Guwon’s rings floated in mid air. Is that intentional and is there a “magical” meaning behind it? Or was that just a drawing miss/error by the artist/author?
Everyone is calling Guwon a himbo and that he’s stupid because he doesn’t know certain things but I don’t agree on that, based on what we’ve gotten so far. I think that’s because he’s not clearly human. He came up from under the rubbles in the prologue chapter. I think he came from the underworld so he’s either an underground god, the devil, a demon or a spirit of some sort, think Dear Door!
Also, the tattoos and the stitches, are they really blackout and Frankenstein tattoos? Or are they some sort of necrosis and he was stitched up? Is he half human, half divine? He died and got put back together?
So many questions! But I’m really loving it so far and Kang Dooshik now has close competition as favorite 2D husband! (▰˘◡˘▰)
There’s one thing I don’t get. In the beginning it was Sir (glasses) that wanted to keep Jaheon alive right? And Lord (horny) was against it. But then Lord became more and more attached to Jaheon and finally claimed him as His. But now Sir seems like he’s indifferent and/or backtracked? Or what’s going on?! I don’t understand him in this chapter :s also, their father is hot!
I think glasses was always manipulative if I'm being frank. I never thought his intentions were pure tbh. Also horny mugo mentions how glasses always had bad intentions tbh in the scene where they are in a small inclosed room. But yeah I think Horny Mugo has always been the nicest one tbh
I think glasses is onto smt, he mentions to horny mugo that Jaheon "brings memories back" also not eating the sacrifice affected the monster the most until now, apparently he is for now the only not affected and I believe he will try to get rid of the other two thru jaheon, glasses really gives me the chills everytime but he seems to know more about the other two and using jaheon in his favor with no consideration
Yes, I’ve always thought there was something sus about glasses and Lord (horny) Mugo has been my favorite from the start and I believe he is the endgame, itself also him on the front cover of the story so I take that as a sign (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
Oooh, you could be onto something here! It seems like it takes two (or more if there is a fourth personality/entity as well) to take on glasses so he could be the one with more power/abilities and what if that makes him able to know/see stuff that Lord (horny) and Monster can’t? So glasses knows the effect that Jaheon has on Lord and Monster, and knows that he’s the reincarnation of Lord’s past lover, so he’s using him as a bait to get rid of the other personalities/entities once and for all, since Jaheon is their Achilles heal?!
