I think people are used to ukes that have no other personality trait than liking the seme, I was reading another manhwa where the readers were mad at the uke bc he sleeping around before he was with the seme... Like what...?
I'm not a fan of MC because he tends to act like a little kid sometimes. And I think some readers dislike him because of a misconception. In summary though, his behavior (to me) is unnatural and a bit stupid:
Jealous and possessive about ML even though they are in fact nothing but family friends, ML isn't obligated to be anything or do anything to MC. That does make ML kind of an ass towards MC, when ML only seems to meet him when it's convenient for him regardless of MC's feelings. However that brings up a second point: MC should've given up on his seemingly fruitless love years ago. Heck, I respect myself enough to choose not to love someone who doesn't treat me as well as I deserve, even if it takes time to kill off the feelings, one shouldn't entertain them and keep them lit.
Misconception: MC often acts irrationally when evil spirits are around and many call him stupid for this reason, although I think it's heavily implied with the scent and woozy feeling that the spirits can fuck up one's reason and mess with their heads (example: "nothing unusual about a huge black goldfish at the school bond that talks to me"). It's not MC being stupid, his psyche is affected.
