I would just like to say please love yourself no matter what body you are in. I do not know if mc would later love her plump body but body shape/size does not matter. Just love yourself and everybody else will fall in line.
I totally agree with u, but there's also a part in me that's a bit skeptical with that "love yourself no matter what" mindset because it could give people an excuse to disregard themselves and not properly look out for their body; they should still remember to eat healthy, stay clean, proper sleep etc.
You can love urself all u want, but in reality if u don't take care of urself (like having a terrible BO, overly oily skin and hair cuz of negligence, improper diet, doesn't care about hygiene, terrible attitude, etc) then I'd have to say that that is not lovable at all, and no one would ever fall for anyone like that (except maybe a kink?)
So, love urself despite appearances, but still take proper care. Don't be too harsh on urself if u are properly taking care of ur body; imo that is the proper way to love urself.

Self care is a part of self love. But when the mc said she doesn't even like herself when she was talking to her ex-fiance just bothered.

"Be clean and healthy for your own sake" is totally different from "love yourself however you look," though. Even if you're super fit, eat well, and take care of yourself, you might not meet the standards for conventional beauty, and that's okay. I've known girls who were waaaay more dedicated to exercise and healthy lifestyles than me who were also way plumper than me, because that's just how genetics shake out sometimes.
