same tbh but i think it's more of an allegory than anything. him shooting pearls represented a reason why he was being exploited, how something unique to him was being used to other people's advantage, while hurting him. i dont really think they'll give us an actual physiological explanation as to why he was producing the pearls in the first place. we just need to know what they represent.
