Just because she has a second chance doesn't mean her personality completely changes. She's a dedicated, quiet, and most of all CAUTIOUS person — these are her key aspects. A lot of series just up and "oh, she's a badass now because she's got nothing to lose!" — not only does this ignore any sense of "core character," it's fundamentally different from the way Evie thinks. She has always worked for others. She's moving to prevent the deaths of others. She's moving to protect and ameliorate others. A sassy badass may raise some reputation of their own, but Evie has hundreds, if not thousands of lives riding on her ability to walk a political tightrope where she's already at a huge disadvantage.

I'm not saying she's a brilliant, inspiring MC. She's really low-key, and while consistent in characterization, she hasn't pulled off any big maneuvers yet that are going to make me scream HELL YAS GET 'EM QUEEN!! =v= I'm not disagreeing with your opinion that she's not terribly interesting, but I do want you to appreciate how well constructed and thought-out she is. <3

Yeah that's what I thought too, if she want to prevent the happenings in the past she should have more development (I don't hate her it just i expect more from her)

i also want to point out that she returned with the express purpose of dismantling the system that enabled slavery, which in an aristocratic setting could be the equivalent of rooting out labor camps in federal prison nowadays. i get way you're saying. it's not high-octane revenge plot where mc fights with guts and gets a montage over three or five chapters. i think it's focuses more on political intrigue, and less character-driven.

girl, totally understand. i like how she is sticking to her original character point but the problem with me is that her original character was pretty outgoing in the aspect of how she revolted against the system so theres a bit of incongruity with how the author is desperately trying to portray her as a quiet and cautious when its such a juxtaposition with her previous world behaviours- like she was willing to go against the system back them openly and naviely, but when she was reincarnated as another person she still seemingly gets pushed around by rosie and other villian characters. what im looking for is not another badass personality character (like i totally understand what you might have interpreted from reading my brief comment and i completely understand) but it wouldve been nice if the author put more thought into how her actions may juxtapose with her character im not asking for a baddass similar molded fl from every manhwa but im just saying what i dont really like is how shes given an advantage and is still being tepid and inwardly shocked with rosies actions or like very impacted when she knew what happened in the past life... i also read some spoilers about what happens with rosie and i dont like how the author decides to settle it either but i think everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
ive read alot of manhwas and i think i can see the strengths and weaknesses in them but also it depends on personal preference for many so its not a unilateral opinion and i was expecting to see comments to defend the other side which im glad you responded to

for sure, im not critiquing that aspect for it. im saying that although i enjoy how this is poltically unique this manhwa is, but her character setting makes me a little frustrated with how surprised and naive she remains despite knowing rosies previous actions towards her past life.

yeah its her overdramatic reactions and lack of resolve towards rosie that dont sit well with me my opinion seems to be super controversial and i can see that the other side also has a different perspective which i totally expected bc wow this manhwa has a 9.7 and i wouldnt be happy either if someone was bashing one of my fav manhwas but i just wanted to point out some inconsistencies (she seemed to have alot of ambition with abolishing the slave system in her past life so youd think that ambition would be carried for strongly in the second world but shes still caught over rosie poisoning her and still fixated on the past in which rosie takes away her knight) maybe its just the portrayal that the author has chosen that makes it seem like her ambition is to prevent another future where her knight is taken away but i just dont like how its portrayed so far
maybe it will get better but
i dont think i expect too much from the fl bc i have low standards to begin with
