Okay..the relationship between Klaus and taki is really complicated..I'm gonna summarise it to you as best I can..and yes rape is NOT okay..
Taki is from a royal lineage of a country that is warring with Klaus's country.
They first met each other before war broke out and Taki was a foreign exchange student of sorts to the military school in Klaus 's country....to which he was then ordered to babysit Taki..this was where they initially came to fall in love..but interestingly in klaus's family a legend is passed down where it was like kind of a sacred duty of the men to find a 'rose' of sorts..kind of confusing..but it's like their destined other so to say..and Klaus found that in Taki..and for Taki..a legend as well as a custom of sorts in that royal members choose a knight who would then literally strip themselves of their identity and solely belong to their master..Taki chose Klaus to be his knight..they had actually truelly met for the first time when Klaus was a teen and his family went to Takis country as friends of someone within the royal family..or some noble of sort..and he met Taki as a young kid..and well..they had their zing moment i guess..coz well Klaus is absolutely enchanted by taki who tells him to become his knight..of course he forgets this but slowly starts to recall when they met again..Taki remembered tho..of course..they become lovers and initially they had consensual sex..where it get complicated is when Taki goes back to his country..where he is regarded almost as a God where he literally could not be touched..had to remain pure..Taki sadly didn't really want to keep these beliefs (considering he definitely not pure anymore)going but he could not go against his own people....Klaus..unknowing of the strict customs and beliefs of Taki s country chooses to be his knight and leaves his country..everything behind and follows Taki..and Taki..probably his only fault in this entire thing..did not fully explain to Klaus what it really meant to be his knight.. due to fear that Klaus would then not want to remain with him coz well he loved Klaus..so upon entering Taki s country..Klaus continues to be affectionate towards Taki..but Taki at this point starts treating him coldly..and Klaus didn't really understand why..which grew to resentment..and escalated to rape unfortunately.

I haven't read this in a long time. But I think taki is not allowed to indulge in pleasure and other things (meat, sex, alcohol). His purity is "helping them win the war" i think taki likes Klaus but is not allowed to act on it. So klaus rapes him to get "taki's true feeling to surface" idk its really fucked up and I don't really remember the plot. But taki can't tell anyone of their relationship because klaus would be taken away. The dog being shot in the story is compared to klaus. Honestly I don't even know whats happening anymore.

According to the wiki, their relationship is punishable by death. That's why taki doesn't want to sleep with klaus. He doesn't want his love to die

Taki loves Klaus, but he is raised in strict environment as a traditional member of holy bloodline sacred to his nation, his maternal uncle the emperor is considered almost like a demigod and Taki as his current male heir by association as holy being. His bloodline love only once in their lifetime and even after death hence the ancient war situation at sacred land. He was suppose to keep his feelings hidden about Klaus but remember when Taki was being deported, Klaus offers to take Taki to his estate but Taki says he has too many people depending on him and Taki was I just wish to be under the same cloud with you, he declared his feeling to Klaus and they spend their first night above the cafe. What he didnt expect was for Klaus to give up his nationality and everything else for him, he was so sad at train station until Klaus showed up. Taki and Klaus were so happy on the train and steaming up their cabin. ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄

When they are back in his country Taki is reminded forcibly his feelings are against his religion/nation and clash with his duty to his nation and peoples trust and expectation of him. Taki is ashamed of his feelings and guilty for bringing klaus with him where Klaus is mistreated and regarded suspiciously by everyone because Klaus is from enemy country and thought to be spy, no one know or could guess that he gave up his nationality, his status for Taki as Klaus is from a prestigious family background that has fallen in importance/prominence. Klaud doesnt realize that his unorthodox way of doing things make the army question his sanity but Taki defends and covers for Klaus every time.

Klaus on other side is like he gave up everything for Taki but Taki is not lovey dovey with him and is instead cold and uncaring after returning to his country and probably ashamed of his relationship with Klaus. He is hurt and angry when Taki no longer initiates sex, avoids touching him and treats Klaus like everyone else (rather than like a consensual lover) until the doc explains that Taki is suppose to be untouched as a sacred person until after marriage (lol he should be virgin aka pure but Klaus is raunchily sexing him up at every opportunity (▰˘◡˘▰) so Klaus is like he wont touch or dirty Taki anymore (as if thats possible with this horn-dog). So he uses drugs to do a mission even though he is badly wounded. Afterwards he has relapse and his medical conditions worsen hence the start of this manga. Taki's protective side is activated now, like no matter what he is not going to give up Klaus, no matter what people say and no one better hurt his Klaus cause only he is allowed to (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

Hyakujitsu no Bara is the prequel and Maiden Rose (2020) is the sequel. The series is ongoing. The first series took years so we will probably be in our 80s or most of us dead before it gets finished ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ
