the dark skinned characters always gotta be the antagonists
That doesn't discount the fact they're still antagonists & that this is a running theme. If we're being honest, this story is the least terrible of them. It still has the stereotypical strong dark skin woman and antag but it's not done in a way that INTENTIONALLY discounts the femininity of dark skin women or says dark skin ppl are evil - it just plays into stereotypes unknowingly. So when you consume this media over and over again, you form unconscious bias.
You don't understand how shocked I was as a kid seeing Tiana become a princess on screen, I always thought that sort of thing belonged to the Cinderella's of this world. This shit actually impacts people, and I'm b l a c k as hell.
Like there's no goddamn way there's 0 dark skin ppl in their continent when they've got foreign mfs next door. Immigration is a thing. If you're going to use Arabian influence in your stories, perhaps giving them equal weighting on both sides rather than just for plot purposes is a more respectful idea than just using them as antags lmao
the only time i see dark skin protags are in yaois which kinda says something... like i found this one story and i though omg hey theres finally a dark skin female protag but then i read the spoilers and they said she becomes whiter (due to her powers and shit its total bullshit) and i was like... bruh
it honestly sucks that there is a lack of diversity in mangas, manhwas, and webcomics they are always the bad guys, background characters, or is treated as exotic beings

I bet y’all $10 bucks he have Ella that glance up and down and then asked where Rosalyn was at?
