Though he did fall in love while they were 12 and 17, he did the right thing by completely distancing himself from Shion (if I got the name right). And then they met again while they were 20 and around 25, so I don’t think kousuke is a bad person.
And it’s not like shion wasn’t a little weird as well. Ofc that’s just my take
The novel is so good, and the adaptation kinda skips scenes and parts that make the story feel more complete. So I’d definitely recommend you read the novel before this
