This is told at the beginning of the Manhwa, I don't know which chapter because it's been a long time, but it's at the start of the story. Ian was prepared to move to the USA and practice motocross, then TJ sends some guys from the gang to beat him up, which ends up being more serious than expected and Ian breaks his leg.
