I feel like the author's trying to finally get to the time skip. They already went into Jian Yi's background story to set up his upcoming disappearance. I think they're just focusing on He Tian right now to get to the same spot.

Oohhh what kind of phobia is yours? My trypophobia wasn't triggered enough since it wasn't "dark and deep" and closely packed enough. I also kinda do an exposure therapy (self-made) to gradually decrease the sensations.

You know plot twists are a thing and it doesn't mean it's a bad reading?
You don't like the ending, understandable, it is toxic, but it is a good and realistic portrayal of "you never know what that person really is" which is cool.
Not everyone actually manages to pull off a good plot twist of real life scenarios.
