
Renchin was sort of painful to read, and I don't mean it in a bad way at all. It's just that Kami's feeling of loneliness really reaches you, and it was gut-wrenching at times. I'm glad, out of so few people he's got in his life, three of them wished for him to be happy from the bottom of their hearts. So much loneliness balanced out by so much warmth. It really got me in the feels....
I think the story captures the feel of youth beautifully. It works very well as a short, just like Aoshima's short impactful days with Minadzuki before her transfer.
Not to mention how the mangaka drew those pages when Aoshima notices how Minadzuki sees the world through her paintings. Pretty awesome....
