they did get married but later on got a divorce and the crusty guy told mc that if she paid of his debt they would remarry. we haven’t seen why they got divorced yet though maybe that’s why.

And their r several ways one can borrow money by writing a agreement (I think that's not legal) and it's so much better than loan shark. Yeah- I think so too. He "loves" her but also somewhat despise her cuz she reminded him of his stupidity. And deep down- he knows he's the reason why mc works so hard to the point she's just a working robot and lost of life. The lost of life made him lost the love that's why he seek out other woman.
Him being lustful of mc just by showing a lil bit of life like getting a rose to thinking having a family with her shows he "loves" her.
