Yes, it’s due to the abuse. Additionally the no education, & being holed up in a room. There are like several cases with abused children where parents like just kept them in a room with no education, human interaction, socialization etc. So they literally grow up illiterate and incapable of basic human functions bc they never learned. Cognitive dissonance is like something so important in humans, and he did not get the chance to do that until the chapter where that guy started to teach him. All of that stopped for him like around what when he was abt 7 years old or however old, he was when his abuse started. Which is why now that he’s a full grown adult, he doesn’t act like that and he acts like the seven year old cause that’s where everything stopped for him. It’s sad bruh. i think it’s in some part the result of incest, but mostly of the abuse Ranzou underwent. when he got “adopted” by Mitsue and Seizou (Ikurou’s parents), he could say some broken words, meaning he was still very young, maybe around 3 or 4. it means that he could have had some speaking problems, maybe as a result of being a child born out of an incestuous relationship. but later, when Ikurou’s born, he’s seen a little older and he can speak much more, even forming a whole sentence (even in the original it looked like a proper Japanese and not some broken version of it). so i think he might have had some problems with speaking but he would have turned just fine had his father not started sexually abusing him and kept him isolated from the rest of the world for most of his life.
