Am I the only one that doesn't like her? Like, she's a married woman, supposedly having married for love, and she's intentionally toying with the Emperor. I don't know, I just don't like her and her approach to this. Further more, really? You're going to bet on the first dance? Grow up!!

Bets that are between two people that are tied directly to the actions of a person caught in the middle are a big deal. Also, my irritation with the marchioness isn't just because of the bet. I love this story, when she's not on page antagonizing the emperor for literally no reason. I detest the idea that "oh, you're wonderful so he's not worthy of you" bs from friends. They don't get to make that call, and they don't get to push their idea of it onto others, and they certainly shouldn't get to antagonize someone because of it. She's well aware of the situation and is intentionally being a b*tch. The author is also queer baiting her with the empress to pull people in. It's irritating and I have the right to be mad over it. Thanks though for the idea that you can dictate other's emotional responses to written/drawn works.

I mean, he's right. This isn't one of her books. Politics and reality are different and her meddling isn't always appreciated. I love her, but yeah, back of sweetie.

I agree, he's right. But at the same time, the moment he shouted, he was no longer simply right.
Also, it might have been a discussion about a very important matter, but at the same time it was a private one. Can't she express her thoughts to her future husband without the shounting? At least that would have been my thought pattern.

So, yes him shouting was wrong, but this is something he's brought up several times and she always ignores him on it. She should also respect her future husbands thoughts, and more importantly his position in the situation as well. He's a knight charged with protecting the kingdom and prince. This marriage would help there. She's being insensitive as well. But, again I do love them both and this is a situation they need to talk out. I just hope it doesn't go the "I was completely wrong, you're right Merielle(?) let's snoop and stop this" route because that would be so fake.

Yep, in a way, I hope both realize that the discussion could have gone better on both sides. That would be the healthy way of going forward as a couple.
One thing I am curious about is why does the thief seems to know why the MC shouted (talking about insecurity), I think I am missing something. I will enjoy re-reading to make sure.

So, a spoiled, sheltered apple of everyone's eye princess is suddenly forced to face the harsh truths of reality and is conned into saving everyone by a magical sword. I'm in! Claudia reminds me of Stella (from Winx Club). So I'm really hoping we get a badass female warrior who still likes feminine attire at the end of all this. I'm here for her character development, which we're already seeing hints at so props!
As for the "romance" ... yeah I'm already feeling the cliches coming and am just going to accept the misunderstandings and awkwardness as they arrive. Seriously, all I care about is Claudia's growth as a character. She'll obviously get back together with Damien by the end of this, so yeah I don't care about that at all. Honestly it would've been funnier if the red haired prince was the "ex" that was accompanying her and had to watch her and Damien fall in love. Oh well. Go get that demon lord Claudia... and bulk up those arm muscles while you're at it!

This is the kind of story that only exists because the characters are as dense as a brick. If ANY of them decided to just, oh I don't know, act like mature adults and talk it would be solved in five chapters. This is beyond irritating. Not to mention, really Valrose? It said FIRST NAME!! Also Alice, a little too trusting don't you think? You all frustrate me. Pausing this for now.

I felt like I'd read this before, and sure enough I had. It's already been uploaded here under it's Japanese name: http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/maou_no_ore_ga_dorei_elf_wo_yome_ni_shitanda_ga_dou_medereba_ii/

Look, I understand why he did it, but it doesn't change the fact that the entire situation they are in is because he couldn't respect Lucia's wishes and wait for HER to talk with the duke. Instead he pushed the topic and discussed it without her permission. So, yeah you did make matters worse, TWICE now. Good job. Please, feel guilty because you're getting absolutely ZERO sympathy from this reader.
As for the fight and our couple's stubbornness and pride... yeah it's frustrating. The duke is upset because he failed to notice something so important about her even after starting to care. She's mad at herself for developing feelings and wanting more. They need to talk, not be pushed into confrontation (again, Jerome is the one instigating it!!!)

No he did his job. He might have been the one that told him but it was bound to come out eventually. Plus he was doing it out of concern, he though she might, you know, die. Plus he is the head butler that reports to the duke not the duchess. So his job is to tell the duke what’s happening in the dukes home. Also he gave her a chance to tell the duke herself and she didn’t for weeks. He can have all the sympathy from me. He deserves it. He is being blamed for their miscommunication/misunderstandings.
Yes!! Thank you! Good parents with a GOOD relationship! Go get them Empress!
