Look, it's perfectly fine to be into all that kinky shit he talks about. It's also perfectly fine to fuck someone in their sleep, so long as there is prior consent given. These people do not have that relationship yet. Legit only just found out each other's names. This man purposely went and got the other guy too drunk to know what the heck was going on. That was planned assault and rape.

At all. The cover is much nicer than the actual art. The art isn't bad, but it's not that quality. I find myself constantly bugged by the lack luster uniforms they constantly wear. And in one panel one of the MLs had 6 fingers lol.

The story has potential but I feel like the writer is missing it? We could have a rightful revolt by espers and guides due to their experiments and dehumanized treatment, but it seems more like everyone just accepts this and only is ever temporarily infuriated by the mistreatment they suffer.
Director of research is obviously a villain.
Also why would they kill all the terrorists? They didn't consider bringing them in for questioning at all?

To be honest, neither of the MLs are particularly endearing either. The one is just a child in a grown man's body and the other is germaphobe who was written to just be a pour misunderstood soul but who then goes and act without emotion entirely. (He's also supposed to be a genius but just acts like a robot who does what he's told without question. He shows absolutely no sign of being anything other than average in intelligence)
It is refreshing to have an MC who isn't a complete idiot. He has a bit of a backbone too. Does seem to roll over a bit easily though. Ch.34 he's saying he signed up for this sexual guiding when he literally said no to sexual guiding I blame a subpar writer for that oversight.

It's not fantastic so far but I will say I've read guide verses I've hated a lot more. So I'll let it cook.

It's not rocket science to figure out what's going on, why, and what will happen. While I already know why the snake is behaving the way it is, it also makes no sense. Clearly though the MC hasn't changed at all through his multiple life times and keeps repeating his terrible behavior and making the same mistakes again and again. Still, you lure him in and punish him again and again for something that happened 1000+ years ago in a life he cannot remember. He's a different person but isn't at the same time. So again, I know why the snake does what he does, and yet I don't.
Anywho, this will only end one of two ways. The MC will die and the snake goes back into slumber waiting for the next life with excitement, because he obviously just keeps repeating the same patterns. Or the MC will somehow change fundamentally and break the cycle, freing them both.

Idk, maybe reading Painter of the Night first has ruined this for me, but I'm like 35 chapters in and all I can think about this story is that it's just Painter of the Night but Yoon is the one getting railed.
They are just too similar. Don't get me wrong, there are some sizable differences, but the underlying theme of the story just seems to be utterly the same. Rich young Lord takes a liking to someone far beneath their station. They take them home with them. Bang them. Fall in love with them. Their bloody troubled past catches up with them as they try to hide their sodomy. People around them keep gossiping about them. The rich young Lord keeps murdering people without batting an eye. Family members are trying to get rid of them.
It's literally the same story
I'm disappointed cuz I do think the story is good, and it's so much better than most of the ones out there, but I just feel like I'm rereading something and it's boring me to tears. I might have to drop it, or give it much more time before I try to read it since I read Painter of the Night not too long ago.

Was this simply another case of a publisher/editor wanting to rush to the end and skip a bunch of shit? Or is the author/writer just terrible?
Cuz like, it started *decent*. Like, there are a lot of abusive/toxic stories out there that get better, but I've noticed a trend recently where either publishers clearly rush their authors to end asap, or where writers just seem to have an utter stroke at the end. (Looking at you Unfinished Business)
This one could easily be either... Or even both. Because so much of this shit doesn't make any sense. Maybe it was something someone started with a whole bunch of loose ideas but little to no planning and then they were struggling trying to figure out some way to make any of it make sense at all, and couldn't make most of it work.
Idk, poor story telling us what ran this one into the ground in the end.

I just couldn't anymore. The second half of this is so bad. Like the original author wrote down their ideas on a napkin and the new guy just drew exactly that in much lesser quality.
The quality drip in this is like watching season 8 of GoT all over again.

Around chapter 20 or so I noticed a very noticable shift in the art quality and it was in the wrong direction. Rip. Seems the artist changed, and there was a shift in the direction of the work.
