can anyone spoil for me if this is worth reading? I read a couple of chapters and the "i'm not gay " seme seems like utter trash of a human being. Please tell me it's not typical straight playboy tamed by a virgin's love bullshit i expect this to be, because i'm seriously sick of this romanticized trope.
i'm half way through man this is torture. This guy is the worst. I know the author meant well but he's the epitome of "experimental straight guy" that I went through in college, they are the worst kind of people and give the bisexual community part of it's bad reputation. Of course he started this precarious romantic pursuit because he's a fuckboy like there was no other way he could have been sincere. UGHHH every single plot. And omg the 20yr homophobic friend of his is getting on my fucking last nerve.
that last chapter was actually kind of fucked up. that kind of insecure manipulation is honestly gross. I was already iffy about their relationship because it just came across as obsessive adoration being taken advantage of especially given their large age difference, maturity, and work hierarchy. I know Tatsuyuki is dumb enough to take this in stride but that was seriously not okay what Kanii did and played as just for laughs.

If you applied realism to this plot, this would be like a white partner who’s racist and actively goes and kills minorities but starts having sex with a “white passing” partner who’s ethnically mixed. And our white passing partner is a simp for their racist partner despite their partner actively participating in their ethnic cleansing and they fall in love. That’s the logic of the plot......
There's no need to associate realism to this manga since it isn't near to reality in the first place.(〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
I’m thinking that’s part of the reason why this manga didn’t sit right with me. I finished it and didn’t hate but didn’t like it either it’s a weird feeling
But why? They aren't wrong!
The only reasoning we got for the killing was that Godai's family was killed by beast folks. That's all. Therefore the logic of the plot remains!
lol everyone getting mad that I just called out this plot for what it is.
No need to bring that up....
exactly this was the same thing i was thinking like how does it even work?? "i hate and kill all your species but ur special" like ???
Cringe af lmao
I mean it’s one thing to love a racist who’s change and another that’s changed after murdering your people and making excuses “you’re one of the good ones” enough to fuck you. Like you must truly lack any once of self worth and self respect to desire someone like that. But I mean he’s “hot” so that negates everything.../
ounce *^
I don’t get why this comment has so many dislikes.... like u literally didn’t state anything wrong lmao. this plot made me scratch my head
So many simps lol
Ethnic cleansing? Ethnic cleansing....where? Did we read the same story or did I miss out a genocide.
Also it's yaoi, you should be reading it with your brain turned off and just enjoy the process. No need to connect to real life shit. That just ruins the fun.
right, lol ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Yes, we are simps because were reading yaoi manga. Instead of blatantly critisizing a YAOI manga for its plot, why don't you go search for some good novels that have some plausible and reasonable plot?(〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
Since we’re*
Lmao, imagine plot in yaoi. I think the best place to find it is in shounen ai. Definitely not yaoi. Plot is more of a pleasant surprise than something to beexpected from yaoi.
Lol I get you trust me. Tbh most of the time I’m not reading for the plot lolol. But you can’t deny that sometimes you’ll be reading a yaoi and go “wait....what?” and have one of those confused meme faces. I don’t think voicing that is a bad thing so I can understand what the original poster was getting at.
Oh yeah, there are definitely one of those, this yaoi is on the tamer side of things though, other than the deaths, everything is treated lightheartedly and the ending is happy-ish . I mean, this isn't the first time I've seen a plot like this...like--gang fights and territories and shit with the uke stuck in the middle....but I guess this is the first one with beast vs humans involved...but what's weird is that people are quick to accuse one side of racism(the humans) when the beast side is also guilty of it.. that double standard is what irks me tbh with these sort of comments on this story. Like--its pretty obvious the mistreatment of both sides are equally shitty. We're just quick to accuse one side because that's where the story is focused on. Even though there were plenty of hints the other side is just as horrible(even enslaving the chimera/*mixed race")
Exactly, i thought about that too. The original post pictured the plot from one perspective and not from the other side. And still, if we think about it, the beasts were not that of a peaceful and pure species (one tried to cut off the mc's tendones, lol). If we ever immagine the situation from the pov of Godai-san, it'll turn out to be completely different from what the first post assumed. And that's what was lacking in her/his assumptions: if you ever have to state something, you shouldn't overlook the possibility of existence of two parties. (●'◡'●)ノ
The reasoning still doesn’t work because this isn’t just a case of being raised to be prejudice and learning to change. Even from Godai‘s point of view he hated beasts enough to kill them on sight. But somehow a beast that has been in close proximity all this time lying to him about their identity just happens to be hot enough for him to want to fuck? Then upon learning the truth it’s this action of his love interest being at least half human is enough to make him realize not al beasts are bad it’s still ridiculous. It’s the utter shallowness of the plot and ignoring Godai’s own past actions. It’s equating a wrong plus a wrong is right and so if your argument. With Godai’s background and shallow personality Yuki has placed himself in the most dangerous situation he could possibly be, the precarious position of his lie putting him in direct proximity with a man who’s unknown reaction to said lie could mean his death. The very lack of self preservation that goes out the window because of Godai’s shallow attention on Yuki, that all this time Yuki has firmly relied on keep him safe, makes Yuki’s decision beyond idiotic from any perspective. I’m not disputing that beasts and humans alike were not saints in their dislike for one another that’s besides point and anyone reading the plot should be smart enough to see that. But the fact is, it doesn’t who’s perspective you look at, Yuki’s desire for Godai a person who he knew absolutely nothing about other than two absolutes, Godai was a fuckboy and a beast killer, is what makes Yuki look so truly pathetic. Yuki was willing to put himself in a position at the mercy of a man he knew nothing about who’s acted on his hatred of his species without impunity. That’s not something a rational person does there’s no argument for that.
I'm sorry, but i still don't get what you want to argue about. You have your point of view and I am still not conviced of it at all. One of the things I am pretty sure about is that they love each other not matter the circustances. So yeah, my best regards and farewell buddy.
I commented on what I saw were in inconstant character motivations. You decided to complain among others in me bringing this up. It’s not my problem if you’re convinced or not, others have seen my point and even agree with it. If you like the plot the same why should my opinion change that? I’ve given reason and evidence to the issue with the plot if you choose to ignore them, it’s not going to change your experience, but saying they “ love each other” is just enough to ensure a happily ever after it’s not enough to explain the plot holes of the plot. Again if that’s enough for you to enjoy it, we clearly have different thresholds. Adieu.
Sorry to say but you and everyone who agrees with you really didn't call out the plot at all about this story being about racism at all, you and those people just tried to put racism in it which it doesn't have anything to do with it. You might as well call out nearly every series that have a plot of people fearing and hating others because of how inhuman or different they are (I don't know how else to say it), and you might as well start calling out naruto for killing the clans off who were feared and hated by many because of their inhuman strength and abilities or Tokyo ghoul because they are people who eat human flesh or other series like it. It literally has the same take of fearing others because they aren't normal humans who are much stronger, and the characters can turn into beasts that can easily kill a normal human if they wanted (kind of like Tokyo ghoul in a way with the hate and looking at them as beasts and the kill). The only series that I have seen with actually dealings with racism is Code Geass between the Japanese and Britannia. So no you and everyone are wrong. And I'm saying this as a young mixed black girl who loves reading manga and watching anime and been watching anime since I was a baby thanks to my dad and his brothers stop throwing racism around in this manga because it really isn't.
You’re point literally makes no sense. None of examples you’ve provided has to do with someone sleeping with someone who’s actively trying to kill those like them nor have those examples placed themselves in a situation which could leave them dead if the plot went in a direction that love doesn’t cure all as all BL does. And you’re personal experience is valid but my analogy of racism obviously is because we do not have a society that is segregated by species. If you clearly can’t understand that basic comparison you’re just being obtuse. If you choose to like this plot there’s n wrong with that as well as of choose to keep its fictional plot within its confines that’s fine too. However there are plenty of fictional stories that are analogous to reality and provide fictional metaphors whether it’s by Dr. Seus to Harry Potter. That’s just basic reading comprehension.
