Don't be angry with me but Giselle annoys me a bit.
I don't like how she keeps Isaac at a distance. The dude literally lives in a basement prison because he wants to be near her when in reality he could escape anytime. The least she could do is trust him. She doesn't trust him enough to run away with him and she also doesn't trust him enough to know that he woud never murder an innocent.
Never mind that he technically couldn't even be the culprit since he was busy fucking her at the time of the murder, it should be obvious knowing him that he's too kind to do something like that.
She also never talks about her feelings for him. Right now she's acting like a lonely high class lady who's just happy she found someone to console her. I doubt she's actually in love and it's disheartening to see that Isaac is very much in love with her. I just hope she doesn't break his heart. And at some point manages to love him as opposed to lust after him.
lol just realised there's also a photo of Shunta http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/usagi_no_mori/mi/aa33ff3b8ac233e14638d84526411fdc_chapter-2/pg-4/
So his current interests are mostly tibetan sand foxes and a little bit of Shunta being a weirdo. Not bad.
I was annoyed at the rushed ending at first and tbh I still am. It could have been much better.
However I think that the author wanted to convey that one needs to understand the real meaning of family in order to create one.
Rui came from a traditional family but she never felt understood or valued so she could never connect with them and pretty much ran away when she became an adult to draw mangas. Although she was strong-willed, she wasn't so proud of being a manga artist so she avoided talking to her parents for years afterwards.
Keigo grew up with an abusive mother and absent father, surrounded by violence as he's been in the yakuza since he was a teenager.
Both of them felt lonely and out of place in the beginning, having no real purpose in life.
Keigo, a typical yakuza, then coerced Rui into paying her debt back with sex and they became closer and closer eventually falling in love. The author did a really good job at showing that just because you fall in love with someone doesn't mean you'll immediately want to become a couple and consider them your family. We all have a past, boundaries and our own issues with trust and self-esteem, none of that magically goes away when we fall in love. Everyone has their own definition of what family really means and it's important not to rush into marriage and having children if you don't know what it really entails.
In the course of their relationship they both grew up as people and it showed in their work ethic and relation to their respective families. Rui realised that she has the talent to be a popular manga artist, she got more passionate about creating vibrant stories and managed to feed herself properly, get more sleep, meet her deadlines. Keigo had always been good at his job but had no drive because he didn't really know why he was in that line of work. In the end, by withdrawing from the race to become the leader, he also asserted his position as a minor yakuza boss who actually really enjoys being just that. He finally decided for himself. He also realised that sharing blood ties doesn't necessarily make a family. His real family are Rui and Seiji, the people who supported him through life. As for Rui, by visiting her parents again and getting their approval, in addition to her brother's support, she realised that she didn't need to make any sacrifice to keep them around as they would always be supportive of her life choices.
It's because they finally understood the meaning of family, albeit at a different pace, that they properly managed to confess and decide to be together for good.
I guess there's some progress now that she's calling her by her actual name half the time during sex...?
Idk, I don't root for them because I think the teacher is a creep and also unreedeemable. I'd like for the teacher to let go of her past love and start therapy and for Aya to realise that she deserves much better and move on. They could remain friends at best imo, it would be the least toxic outcome. Or just part ways forever.
Isaac should kill the husband so that Giselle can inherit his assets. That's what she deserves ater being beaten and raped for years, no need to run away and struggle in poverty. Then she could sell the house and leave with Isaac. They could live somewhere on the outskirts of a city where it's less populated so that people don't get suspicious about them. And whenever they want to have a night out, Isaac could use his power to take them to the city within minutes, go to places where no one would recognize them but they'd still have fun.
I enjoyed it for what it was but the plot was all over the place.
Why did the seme get so obsessed with the uke in the first place? Because he was "arrogant" and he got intrigued? Are we supposed to believe he had never met an arrogant person before in his 28 years of life? Please.
How come the uke didn't give a single fuck that the seme paid off his friends to lie to him? This is super disturbing, who would ever trust their friends again after that?
How come the uke was depicted as an arrogant privileged asshole in chapter 1 just for it to never be mentioned again afterwards?
Why the hell did the uke fall in love so easily? Isn't he an heir? Is he really okay going out with a sociopathic man who stalked and preyed on him?
This could have been way better with two volumes imo.
What we deserved vs what we got:
