Just my personal read of it:
It is not that we are forgetting what happened, but it all escalated to a degree where they created a bond simply because what they went through was so horrible and lift changing that even if they had the worst relationship before, they are the only one left jn the world that understand what happened and also who mc specially, don't have to fear will die on him because after the final battle, if that did not kill ml and Co, then nothing will kill them, meaning by the latest chapter, ml and Co is for mc the only people left whom he can trust to not leave him/die on him even if the world not is peace full he as he himself is saying, got ptsd and is so deep in trauma that normal life just is not working for him.
Again just how I personally reads this story. This is a group of horrible characters who by the end have done every bad thing possible to each other or to others, but they can by now only be with each other because no one else can understand the horror they have seen and maybe somehow they find safety in each other.
That being said. Not a healthy relationship at any point.
