This is so good! I was nearly put off by the art at first but I'm glad I persisted.
The romance is a slow burn, the ML falls in love first and always protects the FL, the king is darling (with the most unique coloring I've ever seen in a manhwa), all the villains suffer for their actions, some of them find redemption. Overall, a good story.
I actually felt sorry for the son and how he died, not so much the father though, everything the whole family goes through including the FL and her mom's suffering is his fault. Though the 3 older daughters are only ever shown in flashback, I assume they got married off but really, they never appear in the story even to visit their dad and brothers graves.

I'm still on the first chapter but why does the plot remind me of the low-budget Chinese mobile dramas that have flooded YouTube recently? I've watched so many with this plot that it's kind of surreal there's a manhwa about it ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Omg the tropes just keep coming
(Spoiler alert!)
Sml is a jerk and a momma's boy who uses the FL and abandons her
Sml's mom abuses and looks down on the FL
S
Her Dad is secretly the richest, most powerful person in the empire (country)
ML is mute and in a wheelchair but it's all fake.
ML is secretly someone powerful (a royal with magic.)
FL gets together with her ex's older brother for revenge (in some dramas, it's the ex's same or close in age uncle)
I swear this is a short cdrama based in a European fantasy setting instead of modern/ancient china

They don't really have titles, the uploaders use statements in Chinese that are automatically translated into weird titles by YouTube, try using search terms like "after being abandoned Cinderella takes revenge on the CEO," or "secretly rich heiress" or "Cinderella daughter of the richest man" etc. If you watch them long enough, similar stories start appearing in your recommendations.

I've been holding out for years waiting for when this will be finished, but it's been 4+ years already and not yet?!
And now all these comments are scaring me. I'm already in the middle of re-reading but I'll stop around where I did the first time and just keep waiting. If it's a tragic ending I'll just never finish it.

I agree! I used to follow this one religiously and stopped because life happened and I just forgot about it.
Now I come back 5 years later only to find out that we're not anywhere near the end and whole thing went to a darker tone. My sibling who's up to date with this said she missed the times when everything was just happy and I'm like WHAT DO YOU MEAN
I just want a heart-fluttering romance with wholesome characters. So far it hits right in the bucket but I didn't sign up for heartbreaks after heartbreaks

Dropping...
Even though he's supposedly the same age as them, Jason in an adult body blushing while looking at Arien at 12 (physically) is a bit icky.
I know he's the ML and I have problem with that when he's their guardian, so the moment I read the spoilers I knew I'd be dropping this. I stopped at ch95 where there's a time skip to their teens and the start of the academy arc.

Spoiler
Honestly was only here for the family stuff, but then the dad is conveniently attacked and goes under a coma just when they're about to meet, then one of her bros has to be way fighting, and we get the 5 year time skip so the MC can have her romance.
Dad wakes up at chap 90. So we barely get to see any father daughter interactions before the big showdown.
I also really liked Olaf, so I'm sad with what happened to his character, I'd be more upset if I hadn't read a spoiler in the comments.
I'd already gone through 50 chapters and skipped out on work for this so I skimmed through and now I just want to see how the author/artist will end this.
Yeah, I kinda wish they'd just ended it there and started a new cycle, because the king killed a lot of people pointlessly and they just live happily together? Exactly where is the atonement? That doesn't sit right with me.
