I think author is trying to drag the plot but it has become confusing

A dangerous guy was in the woods potentially murdering someone (we have no backstory to this yet or the guy). A women who tends to trees was in the woods doing her regular checkup of the area & stumbled across that scene. He gets hurt & gets in a vegetive state & his brother threatened her to take care of him so he doesn't return (no idea what that's about yet until we get the backstory). He wakes up & she lies to him saying they're married cause he's dangerous. And their love story stars there...
Might be missing some info but honestly read ch.1-2 & you get a basis of what it's about
