I think, homophobia is one of the main theme of the story itself. It's a story about how Yohan, who got estranged from his family because of his sexuality and how it effected him mentally. And how Kangjun choose to hide himself due to the fear of bullying and discrimination bringing out the horrible condition gay people live and their fear, just because of their sexuality.
