Because half of the people who ship ErenxLevi were 15 at the time and probably wanted to see themselves as Eren in that position with Levi. Not only that, remember that episode where Levi kicked the shit out of Eren? Yea that plays apart in that too. Also, Eren looking up to captain Levi could play into the fantasy as well.
