Eclis did turn this way because of Penelope. In the original game he was normal but here he becomes a "yandere" because of how Penelope treats him. She never saw him as a person just as a Escape route. Also don't forget that he is still a Slave. No one treats him like a human here and he has no one to learn on as his entire village is gone. Penelope knows this and took advantage of this situation to win him over.
I DON'T BLAME PENELOPE. She did what she had to but don't characterize Eclis this psycho as if he was always this way. HE WAS NOT. He deserves better

I'm sorry if I'm wrong, but all of the targets' character and affection were different in normal mode. It's like it was light mode of the game, everything black and white and rose tinted but as for hard mode it's like the dark mode. Everyone ready to kill her at the slightest thing(at the start). Again I'm sorry if I'm wrong, but I think Eclipse didn't turn out this way just 'cause of Penelope. I think he would have hurt her no matter what she choose, either physically or emotionally.

I know Eclis would do something bad but I really don't blame him. Penelope is the reason he turned out this way. She always looked at him like a Escape route not as a person. Never saw or interacted with him normally and even Eclis knows that and I think that turned him this way.
Tbh I feel most bad for him

It's not Penelope's fault. Eclis's character is of the 'yandere' obsessive troupe, he wouldve turned out like this no matter what Penelope did. And u shouldnt feel bad for him, hes a piece of shit and if u wait a couple chapters u'll understand what i mean. Penelope didn't lead him on or anything, she just rescued him from slavery and did what she could to help him. She's not required to have feelings for Eclis just becuase he likes her. Sorry for going on a tangent im just defensive over penelope LOL

Lol, the reasons you stated aren’t the reason he ends up acting that way. The reason is because he wants to be the only one to possess the FL and the only one she relies on, he thinks if she has a happy life then he’ll be of less use to her. What better way to deal with that than destroy her life (note the sarcasm). His main motivation is jealousy and obsession.

But he's not the yandere trope tho. In the original game, he was simple and honest which is why Penelope went for him in the first place. But the difference between the OG n Penelope is that the OG is "honest n good and whatnot" so meaning the OG treated Eclis as a person. And she didn't save him from slavery. HE IS STILL A SLAVE. And bro is the only living person from his country. His entire country was obliterated. It was erased on the map. Could you imagine being at the mercy of a noble to the country who was responsible for the destruction of your country? AND they didn't treat as a person but rather an object to a means? How was that not turn him crazy? I do feel bad for him. Feel bad for them both. But the hate he is getting is crazy.

Right? Also the double standards. If you think about it, Eclis is doing the same thing Penelope is doing. Whatever he can to stay alive. And atm, the person giving him that is Penelope! Why can't he anything to keep his lifeline? Yall applaud Penelope but not Eclis? They r both stuck in life or death situation. BUT ECLIS IS A SLAVE!! he has less choice then Penelope.

sorry i must have gotten the yandere trope mixed up with another manwha, but idk i just cant like eclis and i dislike how people are blaming penelope for his messed up behaviour, when its like she doesnt owe him anything??? she didnt save him from slavery yes but thats bc she doesnt have the power to do so, but she does try and help him from suffering abuse, even if its in vain. obviously neither character is 'good', both have their flaws but imo what eclis does later on is irredeemable, idk im waffling now sorry lol

Hmmm I would have to see ig. Idk what he does cuz I have not read the novel. She does have the power to save him from slavery. Her father is the Duke. I wouldn't say atm that she's helping him from suffering. She's dangling baits n sweets n whatnot in front of him to make him like her. She's technically manipulating him and that backfires on her. Idk if eclis was the Mc or a woman I think ppl would think differently.

Wtffffff the spoiler ruined everything for me. Not only was Taeha behind the debt but every bad thing that happens to Hawon is going to be his fault too.
HOW DOES THIS STORY HAVE A HAPPY ENDING???
I hate Taeha and I really don't want them getting married after everything that happens to Hawon specially because nothing was Hawon's fault. Hawon getting R and shot and even worse stuff is not ok.
I might drop it now
The first volumn was generic but maannn this second volumn was TOOOOOOOO CUTEEEEEEEEE!!!
I loved everything about it. No bad mother in law. No problem. Adorable kids. Healthy relationship
