I love these two cinnamon rolls and I love that they're not hurting *each other* but they're taking refuge in each other against a cruel world
when you see a cinnamon roll in manhwa 9/10 times they're being abused by the endgame love interest and the writer is passing it off as some kind of legit tragic romance....ig that's fine but the market is so oversaturated with it that this feels refreshing

damn
this is prolly one of the worst cases of second lead syndrome since Yours To Claim
I *despise* the bluehair guy. He literally has no redeeming qualities. He's the worst. So fucking childish. (your heart being broken in the past does not excuse you treating other people like literal shit: don't care) And yet we know he'll end up being endgame bc he got more screentime and there's more backstory (read: drama) between him and mc
blondie is so sweet, I want him to end up with mc so bad and I just know it's not gonna happen
I'm not dropping yet bc I wanna see bluehair suffer some more but I imagine I probably will be as soon as mc chooses him for no goddamned concievable reason
it's like these authors go "hey let's make the worst male lead possible and then make the best male lead possible and make the mc choose the worse one! perfect, print it!"

so, I just read the whole thing (up to ch44 anyway) and I'm honestly conflicted
I don't like that Jaewon took advantage of Eunho in the beginning, even if it was relatively mild. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It's almost worse that he knew he was doing it from the beginning and repeatedly said (in his thought bubbles/the narration) that he was doing it/was as bad as the others/was trash and kept doing it. I just kinda wanted to be like "okay you know you're like that, fucking fix it, don't just keep saying it and shrugging like oops this is just how I am"
it just came off as him being too lazy to bother to change his personality bc none of it affected him personally and that really, really didn't sit well with me. I *did* like that very early on he made it very clear he wasn't into rape and then backed that up with actions (learning about how to do it properly, etc) and his sort of, character growth arc has been okay. They toned down the sadistic part of him, which is great, but I don't think it was executed well overall. If he was going to end up spending most of the series comforting/protecting Eunho they shouldn't have made him take advantage in the first place. It was just a weird choice and it makes him feel like one of those (the early sadistic version vs the current empathetic version) was out of character
Eunho is obviously incredibly traumatized/anxious/a people-pleaser. It feels like it might be more serious than just what they recently revealed, like something from his childhood or something like that. He has such frequent breakdowns and he's so recklessly desperate to please Jaewon that it's actually really alarming from a realistic perspective. I feel like this might be intentional on the author's part. I know people like this and it's rough. He's not stupid, he just doesn't value himself at all, and that makes him easy to manipulate.
Overall I read it and enjoyed it and I'm prolly gonna finish it, but it just almost feels like the author started one story and then changed its trajectory part of the way through and it's throwing me off.
this was physically painful to read, it's so bad
WHY IN GOD'S NAME did the author choose to contrast what is actually a super cute little love story with the secondary characters with BRUTAL GANG RAPE
W H A T T H E F U C K
I really like the secondary couple and I want to enjoy their scenes but NOW I CAN'T THANKS
