To everyone hating on this, let me tell you something. As someone who was severely depressed like him, to the point I felt no emotions at all, it's fucking terrifying when they come back. I lived for almost 3 years without feeling anything. I had suicidal idealations, and would zone out and come to holding a knife to my throat (usua a butter knife thankfully). And when my feelings started coming back, it was one of the most terrifying things I've ever experienced. Luckily I found ways to cope with the sudden influx of emotions, but for him, he didn't know how to cope. Suddenly there was this person and their very presence caused these emotions to well up and he was overwhelmed and struggled to deal with it. It's so much harder when it involves another person as well, because you can so easily lose control and lash out and hurt them emotionally or physically because you're so overwhelmed. I honestly relate to this manga and think it's well done.

As I said, he didn't know how to cope. I'm not excusing his behaviour, I'm just giving perspective as someone who has experienced the same thing. The deep deep depression doesn't let you be rational. You're not thinking, just reaching out for ways to feel anything at all. Mine was also during the covid outbreak and lockdowns in my country, but if I could've gone out I guarantee I would've been sleeping around and doing god knows what (probably drugs) to feel any kind of emotion.
To everyone complaining about them being cousins, there's nothing saying they're blood related. In a lot of countries, especially Asian ones, people incredibly close to your parents, for instance their best friends, are usually called aunty and uncles, and their kids are usually called your cousins despite them not being blood related.

That kiss scene lasted an entire chapter and it was one of the hottest things I've ever seen in a manhwa. He devoured his mouth like he'd die if he went without it for a second. Goddamn I wanna be devoured like that. Also I'm beginning to wonder that because he's a half-breed, he won't have the same effect as a full blood would and the emperor won't be poisoned.
ALSO I STILL DONT TRUST THE GOVERNOR! HES SUS AND IVE FELT IT SINCE DAY ONE. I swear he was the one who killed the mother, since the emperor and his men were no where near the cabin, and going out of their way to find a small cabin hidden in the middle of the woods just seems incredibly stupid. But if ukes mother was killed, chances are the governor would somehow turn up at the right time and uke would cry on his shoulder and the governor could take him with him. He's suspicious and I don't trust him at all.
