Some people keep bringing up the fact that other readers were upset that Ines was using Carcel like a tool since she was 6 years old hen even being a woman into their private home in an attempt to entrap him. Apparently people can’t have a different point a view because since a character had trauma, it’s okay to walk over everybody else. Instead of moving on from that time, some readers like to keep reminding us that Ines suffered when it’s completely unnecessary at this point.
This ch is all about Ines reflecting on the days when she was the happiest. There was no other time in any of her lives so far when she was happy like this and everything she saw was beautiful. It’s clear that the environs of Perez and doing the things she loved most were the best time of her life. She says it herself in this ch.
I’m just glad that Ines repeats again that she chose Oscar and there was a time she liked him so much that she willingly gave up her family and all the things she liked for him. At least it puts to bed the false belief that she didn’t choose him herself.
Most importantly, the purpose of these flashbacks is to teach her something she didn’t realize before. It will be interesting to see what this flashback reveals.

There’s no chapter this week as well. Next ch will be February 15th.

No. Far from it. There is a lot more to Carcel and Ines’s story. A lot of revelations about the previous timeline and about who Carcel truly is. Nothing is meets the eyes. Then there’s the crown prince that the manhwa has treated like he’s a side character. He is not. He is present in every single timeline. So, all of that needs to be addressed.

Unfortunately those rumors will lead to near deadly consequences for Cárcel. If only he knew but I don’t think he would’ve backed down anyway. After all, he’s a military man and capable of navigating the dangers of life and death.

Spoilers ahead.
The rumors will trigger the crown prince to send assassins after Carcel to kill him. The first assassins appear at his hunting trip with Ines but Ines doesn’t find out until much later. The second attempt occurs in his bedroom when Ines is in the capital city. He was sleeping in bed when the assassin appeared in his room. Fortunately he ended up with a bullet graze but there was blood in the bedroom to the point they had to change the carpet . The assassination attempt is what triggers Carcel’s memories of the past lives. At first it’s vague memories of the two men who were in Ines past.

Spoilers
Yes, he remembers. That’s why he left behind the fake pendant that almost killed Ines. He only remembers because in the after life he asked the apostle of resurrection to let him have memories in this life to avoid Ines so he wouldn’t hurt her. He never kept to his promise because he still went and left the pendent that almost killed her (if Carcel hadn’t found her in time) and it’s the apostle of resurrection who had to stop him from interfering with Ines because this is Ines last chance to follow her fate and find true and lasting happiness.

Also, remember Carcel lived two timelines with unrequited love for Ines. If he could do it and still be happy for Ines, all the other men who claim to love her should do the same. There is no one, I mean, absolutely no one in this story who loves Ines more than Carcel. His love is that great and he has the most beautiful and romantic lines and his actions prove in spades that he loves Ines much, much, much more than anyone. That’s why he’s the male lead.

If nothing else, I’m glad the manhwa finally showed a genuine part of Ines’s character in her violent slapping. Ines is actually a woman who would beat up her spouse with that hot-blooded temper of Perez. She will beat up Carcel in a future chapter. lol Well, he allows it but she knows how to throw punches and slaps. She even broke Oscar’s body part before in the crown princess timeline. Perez people are hot-blooded and believes in revenge paid back tenfold.

The manhwa adaptation hasn’t done a good job of explaining how things started between Ines and the men she previously chose. I see some act as though Ines loved only one man. Wrong. Ines fell for Emiliano after they were fugitives together and he was very kind to her. He treated her better than Oscar. One thing that Ines likes is guys who are kind to her. The reason she fell for Oscar is because he treated her nice and special at first. She loved Oscar during their engagement and their first years of marriage. They were married for 10 years so I would say maybe the first five or so were good years. Ines never denies this fact. She said it in ch 9 and says again later in the story.
As to Emiliano, she woke up/regressed wanting to love someone after Oscar treated her so terribly. Ines will always admit she chose love first then added the man to the equation. So, it didn’t even have to be Emiliano. It could have been just another random nice guy and she would have fallen for him. Ines also idolizes her life with Emiliano because it’s a stark contrast to her life with Oscar and Emiliano practically worshipped her (which shows they weren’t equal like partners should be). The jewelry store shop keeper hinted at this too when he finally met Ines and wasn’t as impressed with Ines’s beauty like he was told by the person who left the pendant that almost killed her.
With Carcel, she had firm walls erected against him She never intended to love him and she always tries to deny anything she feels for him. However, wouldn’t it be something that despite her walls and all the ways she talks herself out of staying with him that her heart loves him even if her mind doesn’t want to? It would be ultimate proof that she fell for him in spite of all her schemes and inspite of herself. It would also mean she met he first man she never intended to love but couldn’t help loving.
As to all three men, Carcel is by far the most suited for her. She has the most in common with him, they are equal in status and quite frankly, they get along swimmingly. The manhwa hasn’t even done justice to the relationship that is shown between Ines and Carcel since they began their marriage. All the times Ines has laughed, all the times they bicker, all the times they complement each other, etc. Hopefully the manhwa will now begin to show it as they go into the next stage of the story.
Also, if readers are basing Ines being with a guy because of a kid, then they’re building their foundation on sand because story will reveal a hidden fact about Ines’s past that makes that point moot.

They think that because manhwa obscure the truth. Most people who think this way believes that Ines met Emiliano and fell for him. They don’t know she saw him, liked his face and decided to use him to runaway from marriage with Oscar. At least when manhwa had her sitting on him back in ep11, they don’t even realize how unmoved her face looked at first and then he started to cry, that’s when she looked surprised. She was dubconning a complete stranger whom she barely knew anything about so that she can use him for her goal.

According to Inés, Cárcel was criticized for not being married in the CP TL. So BOTH noble men and women were expected to marry.
Novel excerpt:
Of course, if she thought about it a little more, she didn't even know that 'original' Cárcel Escalate very well. A playboy with many followers. A man who avoided duty and marriage.
Words that could've been used to devalue him were not as varied then and now. Everyone only sees the loudest aspect of others.
Not getting married was considered a major flaw, regardless of gender, and he, who was considered to be the most handsome man in the world beyond borders, was too conspicuous wherever he was.
When Cárcel did one thing, ten stories were created the next day.
