Cárcel lived just fine without Inés in the previous two lives. How about Inés? Did she live fine without him? If she divorces him now or leaves him now like certain readers want, at least he won’t have to be saddled anymore with cleaning up the mess her ex-men keeps making. Thankfully, Inés Escalante, who is proud and happy of her ‘beautiful’ name, won’t be letting go of Cárcel Escalante. I’m looking forward to seeing her destroy the wishes of all the readers who think they know her but don’t.

Here Carcel comes face to face with the truth that he was chosen to be used and dumped. Now with English subtitles. Trailer video:

Unfortunately the manhwa is ending one chapter after their wedding. However, after marriage, Sigrid and Veramud become so much closer and are each other’s most important person. Those who read Sica Wolf probably got a glimpse of it. Even after 14 - 16 years of marriage, the flame is still going strong and the two are inseparable. Their four children know their parents get along very well and the last side story ends with their last son, who has a talent for art, drawing an artwork entitled, “Our Happy Home”.
It’s also interesting to see Sigrid as a mom. It was easier for me to imagine Veramud as a good father, which he is, but Sigrid is also nice to see as a mom. Their kids also interact with the kids of the two female friends she has. I smiled when one of the things Sigrid said she understood is that she should never interfere in the marriage of another person. I liked how much her view matured. It also tacitly brought across the point that there’s a line her friends should no longer cross.

Yes, she did raise him. Veramud as well. He also learned magic from Arcana so that be would be less of a threat to the imperial family. When the kids appeared in the side story, the third prince had already moved out and he’s now archduke. However, he visited and the two eldest kids hugged him. He treats them has his little siblings.

I can understand why Veramud didn’t take Sigrid’s answer seriously. She took about a month to consider marrying him and only gave him an answer when she thought he was dying from the poison. He probably thinks she was pressured by the circumstances. On the other hand, I suppose he could ask her if she really meant it when she said she would marry him but he might be afraid she would recant her answer.
What exactly is Carcel’s downfall that some wish for. I’m frankly quite puzzled. Are they talking about Carcel losing Ines? If so, Carcel would make way for Ines to be happy in any way he could even if it means she leaves him. He has already proven that he can live a life of unrequited love for her twice already. In the crown princess timeline, she was married to someone else yet even when he got the chance to encourage her, he told her all he wants is for her to live safely. In the Fugitive timeline, he helped her and her people because he didn’t want her to lose anything. In both of those timelines, he quietly loved her and helped her where he could and never crossed the line. Ines didn’t even realize he loved her until she became his wife and experienced flashbacks that revealed he loved her because now she knows him better and can see the signs.
What about Ines? Ines is already at the point where all she wants to do is live for a long time by Carcel’s side. The manhwa cuts stuff but Ines already determined this before they went hunting. She acknowledged that Carcel makes her feel safe and he worries more about her than she worries about herself. She even cried when she realized this. The chapter ended with her saying that she always wanted time to pass quickly but she didn’t want this moment with Carcel to end. That’s related to the scene in the manhwa when she and Carcel were lying on the bed and she began to confess she can hunt and ride horses.
Aside from the fact that Carcel and Ines are currently in love with each other (even when Ines hasn’t verbally confessed it), there’s also the fact that Ines is always in danger of Oscar and his crazy wife’s scheme to get Ines to become Oscar’s mistress. Who acts as a buffer for their plans? Carcel. That is why Oscar wants to get rid of Carcel. Carcel also comes with layers of protection for Ines. In the absence of Carcel, there’s his father. Then there’s Ines’s brother, Luciano, whom Ines has begun to warm up to mainly because of Carcel’s influence on her and the chance Carcel created as a bridge between her and her brother. So, because of Carcel, Ines now has Carcel, his father, his brother, Miguel, and her brother, Luciano and soon her father as her supporters and defenders. On the political side, which dictates the crown prince cannot act recklessly, Carcel’s father and Ines’s father are important because they can meet the emperor at any time and can keep the crown prince in check.
Just a reminder that Inés has already lost her life twice because of Oscar. This is her last chance to break this cycle and Cárcel and everyone and everything he comes with makes a difference.
No cause exactly
If ya’ll really wanted Ines to live a happy life then root for her happiness and safety which is clearly seen with carcel in this timeline.
No one is saying carcel is perfect like damn take a breather yall, but let’s not erase the fact that they grew together (mistakes and all) to be in this life thats 1000x better than the suffering Ines went through in the past. (● ̄(エ) ̄●)
Exactly. Ines’s happiness is the most important especially after so many timelines of suffering. So far we even saw her wanting to return to her true self and live life for a long time. This is a woman who was prepared to live a quiet, isolated, divorced life just so she can die properly this time.
Presently, she finally has hope to live a better life and we already see signs that this time, she will proactively fight for her happiness to protect herself and those she loves.
