guys one of the plot devices is MYSTERY (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ not the typical horror mystery but in the way that things aren't gonna be laid out in pure flashbacks, it's hinted at and shown briefly. the focus is on haesoo and taehas relationship growing stronger BEFORE the plot moves because that's how it is in REAL LIFE!!! them having sex brought them closer (as we can see haesoo is getting possessive and insecure due to her trauma) and NOW the plot will start moving!!!
we KNOW that taehas family is weird. they're all fucking weirdos. we know taeha was a sick child who had heart surgery and was abused by his family, im hthinking mainly his brother out of jealousy. we don't know about his mom, who i assume is dead or abroad and his dad seems to be distant and only checks in occasionally. his brother is a delinquent who causes issues (has at least one kid) who his dad doesn't approve of. taeha seems to be favored even though he has a different mother from his brother and seems to be a better suit for the candidate.
haesoo grew up poor, abused and neglected. trauma bonded with mincheol who also was abused and poor. at one point she had a miscarriage and probably can't have another child.
we don't don't know why taeha is obsessed with haesoo, but he began stalking her before the story started. i think he got mincheol a job so he could get into haesoos life.
just because things aren't laid out in our faces doesn't mean they don't exist. the story is a slow burn story, romantic and plot wise. haesoo was in her marriage for a damn decade so ofc things aren't gonna move fast!
and if yall have a problem with the art don't fucking read it!! you're aexist if you think it's an issue if a man is writing it. i've seen women create absolutely terrible BL's with the most questionable art and most sexualized men but don't see anyone talking abt that. yall are just hypocrites
is the plot gonna start moving now? i'm glad we got to see their relationship grow but it's been only that, their relationship. we ARE seeing haesoo grow more, though, and we are getting glimpses of taehas past and family dynamic. it's just not in our faces so some people don't catch on. people say there isn't development but i think there has been some character mental development.
now hopefully we can see the outside factors go into play. we have seen mincheol become bored with ari and want to get back with haesoo and taeha won't allow it so i hope that part moves quicker. but not too quick because then it will be bad pacing.
despite everyone's complaints about this i actually still really like it. this type of story telling, vague and unspoken things, is my jam. also i like the art, how everyone is super hot and the environment is dark. 10/10

i like how the creator kept their past vague and secretive, only being shown in a few panels per chapter if at all. that way we get to see their current dynamic (and toxicity) and then we see their back stories of seo-in and see just how things ended up the way they were.
the past has been revealed, well some of it (someone remind me if it was revealed on why MC ran away or what happened around that time). now we just are on the edge of our seats on what will happen from here on out; seo-in seems to be trying seeing as he's beginning to talk about the past, something they both avoided doing.
it started out really toxic, and still is but there's hope things will change!
