And then he saw his mother smiling with the new man. He stopped and understood that his mother was happy and in a better place. Again when he saw his mother at school, she was happy. It's like he wants to be mad at her for abandoning him. But he couldn't do it because his mother is happy. Being with Yamato probably made him understand it even more.
