i really hope korea legalises marriage regardless of gender :( so many people just hoping to express their love in a comfortable manner, such a small and easy joy being denied to so many people. quite depressing to think how homophobic certain countries like korea still are - i hope that jinhyuk and heechan are one day able to freely express and talk about their love. they’ve both overcame so much pain from such a young age, i hope they get to comfortably and peacefully live the rest of their lives with eachother, madly in love forever and ever
i love this story so much but god i need to rant about how much i loath and HATE heechan’s mum. i hate, more than anything, parents who bring life into this stupid fucking world only to abandon them - why give birth in the first place? if you’re not 100% sure you can raise that child (BY YOURSELF because you never know what can happen) why on earth would you bring new life into such a dangerous world.
the way the mum acts like she’s a kind loving mother and that she has morals when she’s just a different form of selfish evil - she knowingly left her son with an abusive monster and then had the audacity to fucking reject him when the poor kid asks to stay at her place. imagine that - a mum saying no to her own kid after he visits her whilst covered with bruises, asking for shelter. she makes me sick to my stomach. and she has the audacity to still act like his mother? and the fact that her han still loves her so dearly and thinks nothing is wrong with the fact that she left him it just breaks my heart so much.
like you really can’t survive this world without at least one adult to depend on, especially as a child. to see heechan just lingering around with no where to sleep and nothing to eat. no where to go home to. to freshen up and get some rest. both of his parents disgust me so much man, it sucks that no one criticises this and shows how fucked up it is in the manhwa. i hate the mum so badly. i’m glad heechan was able to find a warm safe and loving home but i hate that during his most vulnerable age, he was thrown out by everyone who should have protected him. to think not even his fucking teachers cared that he was skipping school that much and covered with bruises? he was never a bad kid, never loud or disruptive. no one cared.
as adults, it is their utmost responsibility to protect those younger than us, kids simply do not have the same strength nor experience and the world isn’t built in a way such that they can survive by themselves. they need a home, at the very least. and it will always be an adults job to care for them. to think there really are kids who don’t have a home to go to, that there are kids being actively harmed by adults. all over the world. idk man i think im getting suuuuper deep and off track but….. thinking about it is just so heartbreaking. kids of all people shouldn’t have to be treated like that ;-;
