wow... his parents are really terrible. His dad goes out for milk when he's three and never looks back while his mother declares that he no longer exists and even tells his sister that she has no brother when his "skills" are read. Then when he saves them from the dragon they look a bit warm and fuzzy but they still don't acknowledge him and instead speak in this super vague way like they are somehow doing things for his benefit? I was really hoping for there to be a bit of a grudge on his part or to regard them as strangers. Even after when he's leaving his mom is "too busy" to see him off. what a bitch. seriously. and is little sister having a schizophrenic episode or something w/ the way she's having a conversation w/ herself? everyone talks in weird vague ways so it's getting pretty hard to actually figure out what's going on.

going to speculate now that this "elf hero" is still alive and well and entirely a NEET. She probably met the hero Lion once or even got saved by him and started bragging when she got home. her bragging then got out of control and more and more embellished and she couldn't take the pressure of so many kinsmen looking up to her so she shut herself away. And because of how these things typically go, she probably also has the looks and body of a 10 year old even though her image to the elf nation is a shapely and beautiful woman.

I got to ch 5 and saw that Swarm had taken over the translations and just thought "oh no..." and was not disappointed. which is to say that I was very disappointed w/ the quality of the translations. I'm 99% sure that whomever is running it doesn't speak japanese OR english and just mass MTLs the pages w/o looking at them.

Marle has always been a pretty shitty character w/ how manipulative and selfish she is.. which I guess makes sense for a princess but that doesn't make her any more likable. I can't stand this trope though of scolding the over-powered hero because the girl "was worried". I mean.. what, exactly, would she have him do differently? if the corrective action is to "not do things that worry her or defy common sense even though she's seen plenty already that should allow her to trust his strength" then the day doesn't get saved, right?
really weird for her dad to just show up in someone else's back yard, right? In what I don't imagine to be her home town. I thought for sure that this was some sort of illusion test for her, especially since "dad" keeps calling the MC an incompetent even though the whole kingdom has heard about his abilities and how he beat down the hero by now.
