Looking at the last chapter I feel sorry for Wataru. When seeing those flashbacks it's obviously Rina was very good at pretending to be in love with him, doesn't that hurt being in a relationship with someone who smiles at you every day, but in reality have no feelings for you and go around and try to find someone new to hookup with?
I wouldn't say he is abusive. Just very hurt, and because of that a very angry man.
Anger is a very natural response to sadness.

Whenever i read this manga i always get so tense (in a good way) and I feel I always have to go back and forth and drink some water, because it stresses me out
Anyways. I'm so curious about so many things, but also about Isabella since she doesn't work for Grace Field anymore.. I supect she got fired, but also what happens when a Mama gets fired?
I wonder if she will appear again and we will find out why.

This manga is not perfect, but what I do love about this manga is that this couple is so different from the ones in the other shoujo mangas. I almost get a hipster vibe from them with them living in that broke apartment, both have such long hair and all four of them in the group go skinny dipping at the end of the manga.
But I so far haven't seem much goodness in the demons.
They don't even have to eat human meat. Musicia and her companion didn't because it was against their religion, so they don't have to, but they choose to do so because their desire for human meat is stronger then their love for humans.
I'm sorry lol I vouch for Norman's plan. Destroy all farms!
In terms of how they were shown to hunt, they for sure haven't shown any goodness in them yet.
However, if you think about it, humans too don't have to eat meat. We can definitely compensate with other types of food, like lentil for example, which is a good substitute for meat. Despite not NEEDING meat to survive, we still hunt and farm, and as someone said before, animals too have families and even emotions.
And not every human show compassion for animals and some people hunt for fun as well, and from what I've understood so far, the human part of the world is pretty much similar to ours. Doesn't that make us not any better than demons?
Tbh it actually feels like the author is actually describing OUR society in how she portrays the demons: hunting, cruelty, farms, families, feelings, hierarchy, religions, some religions which prohibits the consumption of certain food and/or that impose a killing ritual (e.g. halal for Muslims), etc..
The whole manga, like you pointed out, seems to be an allegory of meat consumption and the farming industry. And it's quite clever in the way it delivers its subject matter. And it hits too close to home, especially with the way we treat animals these days. Everyday, I find out some atrocious new information about the farming industry, (some documentaries are practically horror movies). It is sickening, to be honest. We are, truly, no better than the demons in this manga. I try to eat ethical/ free range farm meat, but sometimes it is not accessible. Moreover, it is a luxury in a our consumer oriented society.
Also Musika and that other demon, forgot his name, seem to be similar to people who are advocates of hunting. (Follows the idea of bearing the responsibility of your kill and how you treat it, which is sound logic, imo).
I hope this manga ends with them finding a solution that satisfies both parties. Because, god helps us all, if cows and chickens start talking I am gonna turn mad. The guilt is bad enough as it is.
P.S. Yup, that flower ritual is really reminiscent of the Muslim ritual for killing animals.
I feel you, I myself am not vegetarian, let alone vegan, but I also try to eat in an ethical way due to what I know about the farm industry, and besides, farms are one of the most if not the most, polluting thing on this earth. I avoid meat as much as I can, and thanks to me my father learnt that vegetarian meals are actually quite good!, I am allergic to eggs so I rarely eat them, only in cakes and all, and I rarely buy dairy, only when I go back to my hometown. And lastly, I dislike pretty much everything that comes from the sea so I basically never eat fish and the likes of it.
Also, i totally agree, I was thinking about Musika for people who are against the farming industry. Not the guy though, since he admitted liking hunting.
I also hope that they will manage to find a solution that will benefit both parties, and not end up with a genocide of either species. Because in the end, as Emma stated, they do the same things humans do, eat for survival. And like you said, if cows or chicken started talking, we would become the new demons (although we are pretty much already demons) But I'm pretty sure that what Emma wants will happen. It would be weird if the author just made them commit a genocide.
Yup! When I saw that I immediately thought of the Muslim ritual for killing animals. A lot of things are reminiscent of things from our world, and I'm pretty sure that it is what the author want to convey. It is too much alike and modern not to be voluntary.
