The Duke, do you mean Tessa (I think he's the current emperor)? I think he showed up a day after there walk. Alex must have reported to him that the princess is lonely and he wanted to bring his nephew. So Tessa showed up but he looks scary as usual.
After waiting for so long, it was definitely worth it seeing the translations. The grammar is smooth and the way the stories flow, you could feel the moment. I'm pretty sure she was cautious of him because in that world anything related to folk would be considered bad or traitorous. It's like religion in the past. Know, if you were reading you would understand that, the guy kept pestering her, saying how he's sincere in stepping out of the box of comfort and explore with her. She didn't believe him at first, but then she heard him play a folk song during his recital. He never does recital, so for him to do that confirms FL that he can be sincere. She doesn't trust others easily because her views are deemed unfit for people of nobility.

I did read and it's a little bit confusing. At first she rehearsed with him and it was pretty copacetic. Then she refuses to play with him even though she worked with him before. Then all of a sudden she's refusing to work with him even though she just did. So now she's working with him again? I mean like, I'm glad she's changing her mind but at the same time I'm starting to lose focus on what the plot is. Folk music is bad but what did her family have to do with that before? Her father was murdered and that's when everything went downhill. Now we have her doing her singing career, even though I haven't seen anything about her family and the people that they are involved with. I'm going to assume that whoever murdered her father and brothers, were people that were close to them. Why not follow the chain from there? I don't know. Whatever. They decided turn the planning to a statistic problem and I guess I have to learn a formula in order to figure it out. Great! The story is my homework
....... If you have to ask what's the importance of her singing, of all this folk stuff then you should just drop it. Everything you have said could have been easily understood if you truly read the whole story. (I mean it was stated a few chapters ago the whole reason, and why she's doing all of this) Her singing, is something more than just singing folk music for fun. Her voice is the key to solve everything. Right now she's trying to make a standing in nobility, gathering supporters and allies in her journey. The fact that you didn't understand any of that, and of her reasons for pushing the guy away is..... Honestly, it's not rocket science, and it can be easily understood. Compared to other Mangas that just spoon feed you with everything, where you can just scroll through the chapters reading only a few parts, and you can still understand the whole story.
