Someone add a horror tag, damn this is pretty good, in a pretty disturbing way... I like how this shows that what they have now started as something pretty innocent (Wonil with a crush on Jiyoon, Jiyoon depending on Wonil's kindness) but then their parents deaths and the subsequent guilt went and fucked it up real good. I also like how we begin kind of having the image of Jiyoon being the "fucked up" one, that he's the one that trapped Wonil in this twisted relationship, but then we see that Wonil himself had become unstable and started needing/wanting(?) this kind of contact with Jiyoon. Which, sure, does not mean Jiyoon ISN'T fucked up, but it sure makes everything hurt worse to know there was no escape from this
Also on an unrelated note... even beside the pseudo incest, the sex scenes felt weird to me visually too bc it always looks like they're gripping their cocks too tight it hurts to look at
def agree. I genuinely am curious as to how their relationship even got sexual in the first place or why MC was aroused by ML in his films. I guess things are better left unsaid, but this one is one of my morbid favorites. so so so so soooo dark.
off topic but the way they draw peens reminds me of Mr A's farm lmao
Both the premise and the execution here are a breath of fresh air, so I think it's a worth it read for any BL fans that stumble upon this... but personally, I wasn't vibing with Yanagawa all that much. Not because he's a red flag or anything like that, but I felt like he kept his feelings hidden/in check way too well, if you feel me...? Like, realistically it's what's to be expected, but as readers we should've been given *something* to work with in order to build the yearning from both sides... as things are, it ended up making the confession feel super sudden and kind of underwhelming.
Other than that, I really enjoyed this I think. They expand on Senoue's reaction and rationalization of this "other world" in a super interesting way, so the first chapters for me were the best.
It's a pretty cute manga, I liked it. Could have more of a plot than this, but alas! Sometimes a no-brainer is good too. I also honestly am not that compelled to either of the main characters but their awkwardness is cute in a kind of "pure," healing way? So yeah all in all I ended up enjoying myself anyway.
Also, the fact Roku immediately asked Rui if he was fine after seeing that hickey?!?!? Love that for them. I think this is one of the only times this kinda shit doesn't spiral downwarda into a jealousy-and-miscommunication arc.
And speaking of Roku... people are being way too mean about him in these comments. He was an asshat to Rui during middle school, sure, and should've been more mature about things now that they're in uni (by which I mean he should've learned not to shove his mouth on people like that) but he's also not an unforgivable monster or sum. Just a well-meaning but ultimately kinda annoying guy at the start.
Also, let's remember the "girl-stealing" thing was middle school!! He wasn't "sleeping around" or "hooking up" w no one they were tweens

I think there's nothing special about this plot ā like, it's not bad, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is a detriment to the manga... but it's just that I can't quite place what it is, here, that makes this such a unique read. Somewhere between the art, the pacing and the writing, the author managed to create an incredibly "fairy-tale-esque" feeling. It felt so... mysterious, in a way? Because truly, there is nothing that jumps out in any aspect of this as being outrageously magnificent or anything like that... but the entirety of the experience just comes together so, so beautifully. It truly felt like an experience from another world. Like you're legitimately reading a fairy tale.
I can't quite put it into words, but, I loved this one a whole lot.
