I appreciate how well written the plot is. Instead of the author trying to string along misunderstandings and plots, the ML almost right away sees through the MCs schemes. The MC is smart and motivated, but because of his young age he still makes mistakes. So many plot points, the author could have made decisions that were annoying and drag the plot along. But instead, they made hee ryang aware of what’s happening and just as calculating as the MC.

I am not sure how this relationship will turn into romance, but that’s not why I’m reading this. I personally don’t care for the smut scenes in this, but I enjoy the dialogue between the MC and ML.

I hope they become a scheming power couple and take down the other officials, because stories like that are always so satisfying. But at this point, I think it will be awhile before these two get to that point.

They already care more for each other than they did at the beginning. Hee ryang is already starting to reflect on his past violence, and it’s possible, in some level, he regrets killing yeonjos family.

I agree. I hope they decide to become powerful together and make the story more of an interesting plot than it already is ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

This is what I'm talking about. MC is smart. He's not like a weak stupid uke a lot of here paints him of. It's just that he's still young and inexperienced that why most if not all of his schemes has holes that ML can see through.

I feel like MC would try to kill ML first before realizing his feeling for him and hyeerang would allow himself to be hurt because of the budding feeling he has for hyeonjo. Although I wish they'd be the power couple scheming to kill all their enemies, i feel like the author would go to a revenge tragic plot. I hope I'm wrong

I don’t think you are wrong tho. We can hope Σ( ̄□ ̄||)

this is horrible. I think I only keep reading because I want to see the MC get revenge against his pervy uncle and this rapist bastard.

But so far all that’s happened is the MCs suffering gets worse and worse

    asmiir_ May 4, 2024 5:02 pm

    right

This episode is especially triggered me cause of the way his face was drawn when he smacked him *the cracking noise* it made too..

The author even tweeted that Seungtae and Sihyeon will end up together.. I’m like how bc that just screams guilt and Stockholm syndrome.. also that he has a reason to not show his body and his obsession with wearing full suits

    aliengelics May 4, 2024 6:13 pm

Agreed. I'll stop reading this one for a while because I love MC, I think he deserves so much better and I genuinely want to see him get revenge on ML, making feel like the absolute pos bastard he is, do not even want them to end up together but probably (and sadly) they will.

mary May 4, 2024 4:40 pm

Is he using mind control??? Or maybe mind compulsion powers. Look at how the MCs eyes are glowing at the end

mary May 4, 2024 1:05 am

I’m gonna wait for the next episode or two before I form a full opinion on this, cause rn idk how to feel about this chapter. There’s still too many directions this scene and the overall plot can go, so I’m just gonna wait.

I’m a Joohyuk hater (lowkey jk), so I need to have this scene finished before I can fully process how it’ll impact the plot/endgame ship. Dochan might still have a chance after this, but it might also pm sink the ship.

If I make assumptions or anything I’ll just set myself up for disappointment. This week I’ve already had to go through the five stages of grief because of other manhwa doing obnoxious things I hate that went completely against where I thought the plot was going, so I’m not gonna set myself up to suffer.

mary May 3, 2024 12:09 am

This seems like it’s gonna be a toxic train wreck full of drama, but idk I’m here for it lmao

mary May 2, 2024 11:27 pm

Ah-in where are you talking my boy joon????? He’s been through enough omg, leave him alone

mary May 2, 2024 6:26 pm

Jiyoon is kind of annoying but in a very entertaining kind of way. I can’t help but love him

mary May 2, 2024 7:33 am

I’ve read other novels with age gaps like this. Part of why I can handle those series and end up being okay with the ship is those couples have a period of separation. I think a period of separation is CRUCIAL for the older person to stop seeing the younger person as a child / highly immature.

(Btwn it’s a 12 year age gap)

And I thought that would happen in this novel; it was implied early on that sejin would leave for the military, which is an inherent two year time skip. But NOPE. I haven’t even read the entire chapters yet so maybe a bit more time has passed, but he never moves out. From the time he’s 18 to 20/21 he stays with seju, with a pseudo parental relationship. (And this is Korean age so actually 16 and 18/19). They have sex when he is freshly a legal adult.

there is no separation. At max it’s three weeks of “separation”. I haven’t read the chapters leading up to the sex scene (or when I think seju kisses a sleeping sejin which is a whole nother topic), and really I have no desire to, so there are scenes I haven’t read in btwn these moments. If anyone has read the novel, and in the chapter I skipped they somehow did a significant time skip and separation period, please lemme know. Though I doubt it :) (I skimmed ch 15, read part of 16)

I am just so annoyed. I love sejus character and the plot surrounding his involvement in the gang is frankly rlly interesting. But I am so. Goddamn. Annoyed. That he and sejin end up together without any substantial change in their dynamic.

Seju acts too much like a guardian/parental figure and sejin too much like a clingy child for me to feel okay with this. In chapter 14 he is still acting like a brat (lol) (no I don’t hate him)

I thought maybe it would end up something like sha po lang maybe SVSS (yes transmigration so it’s a bit diff) but nope. I’m so annoyed. Why am I thinking of scum gong danmei that pulls off substantial age gaps where the older uke lowkey raised the seme BETTER THAN THIS LIKE WHAT ????

I think part of why I am so annoyed is I thought there was a separation period, and read the earlier parts of the novel with that assumption in mind. Maybe if I didn’t expect that I wouldn’t be so annoyed. Though honestly, if I knew I would have never spent all this time reading the novel and would have just waited years for the manhwa to finish.

I actually like the plot so maybe I’ll finish reading, but idk

    Spoiler

He's 18 tho they're both adults, there's only one sex scene and it's towards the end of the novel and also they do separate for a bit.

Hi where did you read the novel? And WHAT?!?!?!?! I THOUGJT LIKE THEYLL BE SEPERATED FOR LIKE YEARS OR SOMETHING BUT NARR WHAT?!?!? And that’s lowkey weird thanks for the spoilers

Yes he’s 18, but although that’s legally an adult I’d argue that’s still very young for a grown 30 year old man. Plus the fact seju has known and been taking care of sejin since he was 16 makes it even worse. He was a parental figure to sejin, and he saw sejin similar to a younger brother. The transition to a sexual relationship was way too abrupt for my liking. And again I’ve read other series w age gaps this big (or nearly as big) that didn’t feel as weird to me.

And what separation are you talking about? Again I didn’t read all of chapter 15, and haven’t finished the novel, so maybe I missed something. But I don’t think a month of separation is enough for sejin to substantially mature/grow up. And even during their sex scene (ch 16) , seju thinks of him as a child (tho im MTLing so it’s possible the meaning in Korean is a bit diff). I just can’t belive that seju no longer sees sejin as a child he has to protect. It’s like he sees sejin as a kid, but is still having sex with him, which is just….. uh not great

Hey, I just wanted to ask, if you've read the novel do yk:

Ik this technically already goes into the realm of dubcon due to power dynamics but do either of the characters get raped or SAd through the book?

Does Seju get with anyone other than his now sex partner and Sejin? Do they detail any other of his sexual experiences?

Does Sejin get with anyone else in the novel?

Thank you so much I just really need TWs for everything before I go into them.

Omg I forgot there was a manhua. This ML is literally the worst, how they ended up together is annoying. I don’t think I’ll ever finish this manhua or reread the novel, other scum top series are much more enjoyable than this

Him just leaving is so funny, what an icon
