Unfortunately, that doesn't quite work in real life, so I don't see why you should apply it to Baam and Rachel. Siblings can't stop being family just because one does a horrible thing. If it worked like that, I would have certainly removed my brother from the family altogether myself even if my parents didn't comply. He did a horrible thing, so does that mean he deserves not to be a family member? Regardless of what Rachel has done to other characters, I still think of them as family, as that's what she has been to Baam. All those horrific things will not change how their life has played out. It just means she's a really crappy sister.

You'd be surprised. Are you ignoring all the times in life people have killed their own family members? One boy shot his sister because she wouldn't give him the tv remote. Straight in the head for that matter. Plenty of family members fight and kill one another, as horrible as it is, it happens. Stop trying to make up excuses, family kills one another.
