Hot take but I really don't like it when people say "Idgaf about your backstory what a waste of chapters". Thats literally the point of telling a story??? You explain the reasons why characters act the way they do, you show what they experienced, how they felt, but that doesn't mean you're trying to make them 'good' by showing why they became 'bad'. Ugh, I'm so over these sick and twisted f***tard Authors. Seriously, I am over these despicably disgusting stories already. While there are many powerful stories in the world that include rape and sexual assault as key elements, 99.999% of these yaoi/smut novels/manga/manhwa is NOT in that category. Anyone who enjoys writing or reading such intricately detailed accounts of ongoing rape in a single story has serious mental, emotional, spiritual, and sexual issues.
Words such as:
"This is the norm for this genre" or
"Don't like, don't read" or any excuse at all, holds no meaningful incentive anymore. This disgusting sh*t needs to be protested. Authors/Creators need to be confronted on as to why exactly are they okay with publishing and profiting off of these atrocities. There is no excuse for why anyone would enjoy viewing any form of depicted persons being repeatedly raped and sexually abused chapter after chapter after chapter over and over and over again in such vivid details unless they are a disgusting piece of sh*t monsters, themselves. I LOVE THIS MANGA IDGAF! people always complain how “she’s still the same” or that “there’s no real chemistry" yet it been shown little by little. Her personality is still timid and she cries a lot but she strong in her own way. She explains this herself how although she’s empathetic and reserved, she can still stand her ground when it matters.

Somewhere along the way, we started hating FL characters like this because they don’t fit the “strong badass fl” which is a physically powerful, fearless, emotionally stoic heroine who never needs help. People claim they want a “strong FL,” yet bash anyone who isn’t bold and loud. But strength comes in many forms. There are countless traits that can define a strong female lead.

True diversity means representing all kinds of women: bold, timid, emotional, logical, nurturing, independent. Hating timid characters is basically gatekeeping what “acceptable” femininity looks like. You’re just creating another restrictive standard for how women should act. For example: “Women shouldn’t be weak or shy they should be bold and fearless.” That’s the same problem as before, limiting women to one personality type.

We as woman has so many conflict emotions and this manga portrays that beautifully. Not to mention they’re teenagers! Do you really expect teens to have perfect communication skills in a relationship? Especially Uka, who’s only just starting to come out of her shell. Kai isn’t perfect either as his past relationships weren’t great. The beauty of their relationship is that they’re trying. Their communication isn’t always verbal, but it’s there in their actions. And at the end of the day, they understand each other and that’s what matters

People saying this is “cringe” forget that it’s supposed to be like that, they’re in high school and still learning. Not to mention, this manga is old! All the characters are different, which is the point: people have different personalities and struggles. The doubts they feel because of outside opinions, and their effort to communicate despite insecurities, show how raw and imperfect they are and that’s what makes it real.

As a hardcore shoujo girly, this is one of my favorites bc it's so old school. It’s exactly what I used to read in middle school, daydreaming, “This will happen to me when I get to high school.” Shoujo was created to comfort young girls even if it’s a little cringe sometimes. It was specifically targeted at school aged girls and was never just about romance. It’s about personal growth, friendship, and hope. Despite the cringe factor, we loved it and that’s the magic of classic shoujo.

Sorry for this long rant but I absolutely adore my old cringe classic shoujo coming from a girl who just graduated!

She'll get one good thing happen but she'll hurt others along the way like Arabella - who was dead in the previous life anyway but died because of the accidental seed Ariadne planted during her revenge - and then her the mom (i forget her name lool) who was a comedically horrible person but her death also wasn't satisfying, she chose to protect her awful son at the cost of her own life??? was not expecting that! And then the prince, i feel like the ML in these are usually so perfect and powerful but he's kinda pathetic... in a good way ╮(￣▽￣)╭ we love a pathetic king

The last dozen chapters have been so weird and annoying. Everyone loves lippe, lippe is the best and kindest person ever and forgives Haillena. Such a weird idea to introduce a new character so fucking late - and then she dies. It feels like she was only there because the author wanted someone to die but didn't want to sacrifice anyone of the main cast. Weird ass shit.
Also the expressions are getting on my nerves so badly, everyone looks the same when they have specific face expressions. I'm esp talking about that face where they bite their lip. Or when the veins pop. It looks ridiculous and then EVERYONE does it. It makes them look indistinguishable.

I really liked the beginning and I liked when lippe and rias got together but the middle part (idol singing era) and this are so weird. Everything is so rushed and anticlimactic and boring. Like the final showdown with emperor was so??? Bland??? And then he randomly reappears and vanishes again. But actually it's not over yet, there's another evil guy so another boring fight ensues and the cherry on top is the characters dropping dead and then getting up again until the sacrificial lamb haillena actually dies.

I’m not gonna say that people should defend ari, i too, think she needs to grow up and leave that man. But some of you people are acting like she deserves to be abused by mincheol. I think it’s very weird that some of you (NOT ALL keyword NOT ALL) will try and justify it by saying “she chose to stay with him” and then wish she’ll be abused. somehow some of you think by defending ari, we’re somehow also against haesoo. i’m telling you now, everyone giving ari grace is also a big defender of haesoo, it’s that fucking carrot head that everyone agrees needs to disappear. You hated it when haesoo was being mistreated, so why are you suddenly okay with seeing another woman be put in her position? I also don’t want to see people say “she knew what she was doing when she messed with a married man” when she was under the impression he was single, and then after encountering haesoo, a divorced man.

She has no knowledge of haesoo and minshit’s history, we just think ari should automatically believe haesoo because she’s objectively the good person and protagonist and also telling the truth. but it doesn’t work like that… should ari have been more diligent? yes definitely, she’s being a bit dumb right now, but that does not warrant her being mistreated and abused in a toxic relationship. if we’re following the korean age system, she’s actually 24 in western society, not that it matters much anyway. i really want to see people stop bringing up her age because no matter what, no woman deserves to be mistreated.

Maybe in another universe, ari stops to talk to haesoo and ask her for the truth, and then also believes what haesoo is saying. then they get along and cut out that carrot headed bitch out their lives forever. They’d have an older sister and younger sister dynamic. And then ari dates someone actually appropriate for her age, who doesn’t lead her on or use her a blowup sex doll. Someone else also said this but i forget who, i think yall also forget that the plot conveniently needed mincheol to stay at someone else’s place after the big blow out fight with haesoo, so they HAD to make ari forgive him…. and yeah this is naive as hell for ari, but she thinks mincheol won’t see his ex-wife anymore cause he’ll live with her full time.
