Tighter is not better. I'm a trans man who binds everytime I go out and its uncomfortable as hell when its too tight. But the problem with her is binding with bandages. I understand its a fantasy world so they won't have the proper clothing material and type but it still hurts me to see her binding like so. Bandages are not made to help you mind. Its made to constrict the area and stop bleeding. When binding with bandages like that, especially really tight, you can damage your breast tissue, your ribcage, and even constrict your breathing.

We are advised to not wear binders when working out or swimming. Having any liquid on the binder makes the binder much tighter than it should be and you could injure your ribcage and lungs permanently.

People who bind unsafely, especially for long hours and sleeping with it, will not only damage their chest, but as a trans man or person who wants to get top surgery, will lose their chances of getting the surgery they need.

Thank you for this info, I realise I was doing it wrong without bandages, I don't like my breasts so I always tighten it extra even tho it's a bit painful, I just want to be flat ;-;
I couldn't afford for a surgery and there isn't any binders where I live, it has to be shipped from a diff place
and I'm just a teen depending on my parent's money and they are too conservative and transphobic so I can't tell them even if I wanted to buy one :(

I know it's tough being in that kind of family. Here's a tip that I know:

Do you have access to sports bras? You can make a diy binder using those that are much much safer. You need at least 2 sports bras.
Take any of the padding out of them. Take 1 sports bra and wear it the correct way. Then on top of that, put it on backwards. Make sure they are one size smaller. Dont make it too tight but just enough so that your chest is flatter.

Its not gonna be as tight and ideal as binding with bandages, but it will be much safer. (Though eventually, I hope you will be able to get access to a decent chest binder). (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
