I really like when stories play with the idea of an elven life. They live an absurd amount of time- far longer than similar races (like dwarves) and are probably only outlived by beings like spirits/dragons/world trees. My favorite fantasy concept tbh- aside from authurian tales of magic.. even though I cry EVERY TIME one of their human companions dies from age. (the best/well written example for me is “Growing Tired of the Lazy High Elf Life After 120 Years” IK THAT TITLE IS FUNNY BUT ITS SO GOOD.. and “Sousou no Frieren“ is also good it’s more shounen-y)

You can be mad a goblin slayer all you want but it’s a trope that goes further back than goblin slayer. The goblins are also somewhat designed after real life pirates and pillagers who do the exact same thing. And in no way am I saying that it’s good or acceptable I’m just trying to explain it
The most logical thing I can think of as a reason for goblins to be like this is to leave no room in your mind to like the goblins. Making you view them as scum to then let them be killed by the mc making you like the mc more for bringing justice to the goblins
it still doesn’t explain the blatant need for sexual assault lol. It may be based on “historically accurate” tales of pirates and plunder but violence and brutality don’t have to have sexual implications. just murder, and pillage. burn the houses, slaughter the people, kill the livestock, steal their valuables. all of those things make them bad, I’d root for an MC to kill goblins who pillage and murder.. but to assault for no real reason aside from “for shits n giggles” just seems really gross. sexual assault and r*pe are traumatic things, incredibly so and making it a “plot device” is stupid.
