Why are some translation group (members?supporters?) so rude to occasional translators? Like, fuck off, newbie translators don't have any stupid ass agenda of overthrowing translator groups and undermining their efforts, they just help us have a clue of wtf the raws are saying when they've been available for long and it hasn't been updated in a (many times loooong) while. Quality translations are very much appreciated and praised, but there's no need to attack others who only want to share with the community. That just discourages many potential recurring translators which means LESS MANGA GETS TRANSLATED and that fucking sucks for all of us at the end of the road. If anything, manga sites should have a section to upload "quick" fan translations aside from "official" group translations, just like the raws section so we know which is which, that way the addicts that just want their quick fix of yaoi drug can get what they want and the somewhat decent consumers can wait for the good shit, and everyone is happy. But what am I gonna know anyways, I just wanna thank everyone that makes these things available in any way possible, be it shitty or big effort, bless y'all.
I agree man, look super grateful to the first scanlation group for translating the first 2 chapters but I literally thought they dropped it cause it’s been 6 months. This rookie is being pretty decent about it too. In their little page it literally says “feel free to delete.” They’re treating their translations more as a “placeholder” until whatever group decides to take it up, or continue it. And I’m glad you mentioned different sections for quick translations. I know a few manga sites that do that, and the amount of drama between scanlation teams is minimal, people just choose who they prefer. Maybe if people get recognized in a blunter way they’ll feel less territorial. Really though I never knew this type of stuff happened until I started reading “””less mainstream manga genres.””” Like yaoi or a certain harem series I remember reading once.
Ohh, I didn't know there were already some manga sites that did that, that's great. Yeah, I've seen this happen a lot in this genre (been here for a long while), and it's a shame, really. I hope it doesn't discourage many translators, though, we have to let them know we're glad for their job and they did a good effort more often.
