Liz is GROOMING him. Grooming doesn't only need sex as the end goal. Grooming is much worse than manipulation.
When you manipulate someone, you use their feelings towards you to your advantage. The point there is, they already have a preexisting "feeling" or "impression" towards you.
When you groom someone you build a relationship, trust and or emotional connection with a child or young person (Liz is roughly 430 yrs old in a 20 yrs old body).
Some goals of grooming are:
- manipulation (she is doing it already)
- exploitation (she is kinda exploiting his feelings and trust for her)
- abuse (she didn't do this yet BUT the moment she leaves him, it'll be as good as abandoning him, when she taught him to "depend" on her. Abandonment is somewhat a kind of abuse). Kinds of abuse (sexual, physical, mental, emotional, etc.) - she gonna abuse him with the mental and emotional aspect.
