Congratulations, you made the original group that worked so hard on this drop it. And the readers who didn't support the original group coz they were too busy being impatient and entitled... now you will not have scanlations when the new group decides doing this isn't fun. And then we won't be able to read this at all...
Among scanlators they usually honour the other group's hard work by not swooping in to take their projects. The new group is working on 1 project, therefore are fast at it and gain support easily, while ignoring the original group's requests to not steal their hard work. The original group, which is working on 'Emperor and the female knight', 'Problem of my love affair' etc are understandably slower, more organised and ethical. So they obviously can't focus on fighting this one group.
So now the original group will not post entirely. I'd like to see this new group start a project and then see others swooping in on their work, and see their reaction to it..

Adele's smirk pretty much explains it. She's doing it to push felix into admitting his love for her, else he'll keep being confused about whether his feelings are genuine or not. If he still doesn't admit his feelings even on the verge of losing then no point in her staying and fighting, as he simply doesn't have enough feelings for her. If he admits it, that's all the reason she needs to stay.. Clever girl, no matter how dumb the antagonist gets

So many readers, who risk nothing reading illegal translations, but have no respect or appreciation for the group that sticks out their neck to start such a project. So quick to jump ship to a group doing translations for fun, who increase the risk of translations stopping altogether, instead of having a little patience for a group with multiple projects to work on.. going so far as to unequivocally support a group that snipes, and has no respect for other translation groups. No group should bother to start a project, if other groups swoop in like vultures to build on other's hard work.

Don't support sniping of some other group's hard work just for a couple of extra releases... It is extremely unfair to the group that worked on this for months, and they are the ones risking their necks to bring scanlations to readers.
You guys are doing a great job, maybe you should pick up something that's been dropped by another group, instead of going for projects that are being worked on already.
Love Tristan! Love Tristan!

They can do whatever they want, doesn't mean they should. And the original translator didn't translate chapters 6-8, because this new group sniped and got ahead, building on someone else's work. Also, as far as I know, it's a understanding of groups to not encroach upon projects of other groups. Not good to encourage this practice of sniping, just for a couple of extra chapters. This would cause a lot of discord among groups. Why would any team pick up a project if they know others are gonna use their hard work and not credit them for it, and if readers are gonna come along and support other groups the instant they get an extra chapter?

And why not? We're not a costumers... It's like when you're buying a cholcolade....We can say MILKA was first in bussiness, but then came Lindt Cadburry and others.. They won't stop their productions because milka was first there..
Many of scanlations only approves updates in few manga reading websites, but many people take their work and paste it somwhere else. It's also no good, but we are readers.. WE WANT TO READ... Not to check if this is ours group scanlation so we can read. Beside many times happens situations like when they update 2 chapters and then they go on hiatus or sth.

Yeah exactly, "if the quality is good" but here we are not only deal with sniping but also translation in broken English. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to shame anyone for not using perfect English because mine isn't flawless either but If you publish a translation that puts me in a situation where I have to stop every now and then to read the sentence more than once to understand what it's suppose to mean then I'm just not going to support that, especially when I have a choice where translation is better but has a longer waiting time.

I've been a novel and manhua translator for 4 years, and I would like to offer a translator's perspective.
I hope you realize that most manhwa/manhua/manga do not get paid for their work. A chapter that may take you 10 minutes to read could take a translator or team five times that duration to release. We're not translating Spanish or French to English--we're translating a language that's far different from the English language. Quality translations are not that easy to churn out.
The reality we live with is that our readers, no matter how many much love they show under our translations, can easily turn around and give that same love to a faster translator. Despite that, we still chose to commit our time and effort because we want to share our love for a novel or comic by sharing it to the English reading community.

Really grateful for all your work. As I understand it, there's a tacit understanding among the groups to not take each others projects, especially without permission. For people to support a new scanlator who sniped, instead of the original group that stuck out their necks for this project, would definitely discourage the original group

Yes but the faster are for practice. I am sure they will stop translating once they get their fill why the of group has committed to translating it all. If the situation continues I feel really certain that this webtoon will just be dropped cause people like you prefer faster instead of well done and dependable. If you don't believe me you can check out sooooo many mangas here that have been in the same situation.

There definitely is. A three-month wait is the time for inactive novels on Novelupdates, and I would say about a month or two for Mangas. Just recently, one of my fellow novel translators went on vacation for a month. She'd translated over a hundred chapters of a project and made sure the quality was well before releasing. When she returned, however, she saw that a reader had picked up her novel and started MTLing (edited machine translation via Google Translate and other engines) it because she "loved the novel too much and couldn't wait anymore." So now my friend's project, that she introduced and spent half a year's time on, is now gone. We're working on taking it back though.
The original group pleaded the readers to not support a group that snipes the work of another group, which has made quite a few groups and projects suffer in the past. Coz this discourages groups from taking up projects entirely... understandable. DnA scans would've never spent this much energy on this project had they known this would happen to them, and that readers would fully support snipers. Then the whole project would never have been made available in the first place. No one would risk their neck to bring translations to readers then, which would a thrilling outcome for all the people who are going about supporting the new group saying 'its illegal anyway, might as well support someone who is extra unethical to get bad translations to read quickly'
