So I'm sure he's just gonna blame everything on Jihwa, and never realize or be sorry for his anger issues and violence inflicting just as much torture on Nakyum (although emotional).

Exactly. Like it always irritated me to no end when readers said: the main problem is miscommunication. And I'm like: bs.
So what if NK escaped for real? Then SH actions are understandable and ok?
Jihwa's actions are one thing but SH's are a whole different matter.
And if SH won't reflect on his actions and blame everything on Jihwa and hurt him or kill then sorry there is literally no character development and self awareness in SH's character... And I'm shocked so many people cheer him to kill Jihwa. And don't see other problems.

The story has very good smut, in fact I'd say it's often on the level of hentai, but I think it's a really terrible love story. At the end of the story, I'm just left not believing their relationship will work out, and that's not how you want a love story to end.
The reason I feel that way is bc the author had Eunwoo develop even just a tiny bit of romantic feelings for Hajoon way too late in the game, it makes his feelings look weak and fickle. Like he doesn't really like him THAT much, and his heart could therefore change in a few months time again. Especially since he didn't end up developing feelings until after he saw the professor with another guy, making Hajoon seem more like his second choice tbh. And even at the end, he was still so reluctant to show the professor his affections for Hajoon. Which is just a red flag to me.
Also I'm left at the end of the story feeling like the two don't have equal "power" in the relationship. Hajoon spend the entire story pining and chasing after Eunwoo, and I'm disappointed the roles never properly switched. It makes Eunwoo feel undeserving of Hajoon in a way.
And my last critique: Even tho I appreciate good smut like everyone else, the story just focused too much on sex for my taste, and too little on actual feelings and partnership.

Like I get that postpartum depression isn't always rational, but I'm not even sure that's what she's suffered from all these years, bc I've never heard of someone having post partum depression for 15 years. She talked about how she couldn't resent her husband or her family, so she ended up resenting her child instead. But resent them for what?
Was she lowkey forced/pressured into a marriage with her husband, is that it?

He pressured Haesoo into a relationship he KNEW he didn't want. Haesoo had already turned him down twice, but he kept harassing him about it to the point Haesoo felt guilty if he didn't give him a chance. This entire time, he has always known Haesoo is in love with someone else, but wanted to win him over for himself. He literally states that in this chapter. First to simply boost his own ego and sadist fetish with hurt people, and later because he genuinely fell for him. He got himself into this mess! He was stupid and selfish for pressuring a broken hearted guy into an unwanted relationship. So yes, imo he does deserve to have his heart broken. Because it will hopefully teach him never to abuse vulnerable people for his own selfish gain again.

I just don't feel bad for Taku. Everyone probably has their own interpretations of the characters, but to me, it was always really obvious that Haesoo would only ever love Joowon. And like Taku himself mentions in this chapter, it was obvious to him too. I always felt like Taku was knowingly pressuring/coercing Haesoo into a relationship he knew he didn't even want, which is pretty triggering for me. And even tho he might have ended up actually falling for Haesoo, I feel like he started off viewing him more like the prize in a competition. He always rubbed me the wrong way for those reasons and imo he's the cause of his own misery (and part of Haesoo's too). So no, I think this is fully deserved. Sorry to anyone who likes him.

i very much agree with you! i realize i hadnt paid attention enough to his toxic actions towards haesoo. but then some comments made me realize it (he really made haesoo feel crappier now that i look back on it). particularly this comment spoke a lot to me and made me realize a lot:

If the author had drawn him with a bruised cheek and/or busted lip too. I know Jiwook slapped him first, but he's the only one who actually got hurt and Hyungseo kissed him first without consent. Slapping him back when you're the one who messed up first isn't it, it just makes him look violent. But I guess that's the point of the story. The seme is violent bc of his year long abuse by his parents, and he needs to learn how to change that with the help of the uke...
But yeah, it's currently pretty hard to feel bad for him when he visibly hurt Jiwook while walking away unharmed himself.

I don't know if the author actually wants us to feel pity for Rosamund or wish for her to find happiness, but if so, I think this reveal is a little too late. Knowing what a hateful psycho maniac she turned into, who has no problem inflicting even more pain on innocents, it's very hard to really care about her sob story past tbh.
I like the lovers turned to enemies plot, but damn the seme's violence is just ridiculous and irrational. It's starting to feel like a bad soap opera. And I'm starting to doubt he can ever redeem himself to the readers.
Do you have other recommendations with this trope lovers turned to enemies?
