It has all the makings of average BL slop (transactional relationship premise, ceo attitude/cold to everyone except to one person, happy-go-lucky/airhead twink) but NONE of the toxic, rapey bullshit that usually comes along with BL slop.
No need for mental gymnastics to justify the plot. Characters feel grounded and real (if you've ever been a gm or in a competative guild, the portrayal of MC trying to wrangle together so many big personalities is just so apt (๑ ╥﹏╥)و✧). Don't even get me started on the world building, oy it's too good

Is there a novel? Is Alicia fr evil/crazy or do they only call her a witch bc she's a cunning/outspoken woman that threatens the world view of the old men?
This story feels like the opposite of the Bechdel TestLike how long can we go until they're legally required to write a woman into the plot
Girl burning down a whole store of steamed bun just because it resembles her crushes love is pretty crazy to me
Fair point, but i will say, compared to ML's actions (kidnapping, exiling mc to remote regions for years, sausage party marriage banquet) burning down a Bao shop is relatively less crazy. I see a woman scorned (like that redneck song about the Carrie underwood vandalizing her cheating man's truck with a bat)
Girl I need the song name if you don't mind, also I get what you mean like women are generally treated badly in bls so I completely understand your point
Lmfaoo girl u gotta know "Before He Cheats - Carrie Underwood" it was the middle aged mom national anthem in 2005. She was huge with gay men until recently (she performed at a trump thing or smth)
Wait lmao I was thinking about this but was not sure, already in my playlist, that's like a bop
