A lot of people saying the seme is an asshole, and yes he def is. But did you guys notice all his actions contradicts his words? He let's the uke stay overnight after sex, pats his head everytime after he scolds and belittles him, ask him if he has dinner yet and give him chicken, he talks as if he doesnt care about the uke but when he saw the little brother he didn't even get jealous first coz the first thing he asked was 'are you okay with that', says he doesn't wanna pair with him but flips table when uke says its okay he understand, says the sex is so-so but wanna go again, gets angry at uke for coming out with pheromones(though it's harsh and it's victim blaming) he covers the uke with his coat and drop his work. However, I don't know if the uke actually sees through his contradictions though...cause I personally would not see through it if it happen real time. I can only see through it when it is a manga and I can reread it carefully.
Also, who tf feeds antipill with their mouth, he can just give it normally but he need an excuse to kiss the uke. Such a tsundere.

So I read everything in one go. I need to say, I read this manga 2 years ago and I dismissed it. It is way too weird. Now with more chapters out and I actually reread it with more concentration. I realise it is actually a really good manga.
First off, people find this caste game ridiculous and absurd. Why would people pick a card and follow that role? That is basically what the author want to portray, the absurdities of our society. One person can be born and be a Prince, just because their parents are royal. One person can be born bullied, because maybe their parents are refugees or some kind of race. People dispose you for dating people outside of your own class, race or maybe the same gender. When we read this story out first thought is, how absurd! But aren't all of us playing this game in real life?
Second, the mob mentality. It is a very scary phenomenon. Like everyone who attacks Azusa, they are just attacking because they are given an opportunity to. Do they really hate him. Not really. They just feel good because they are above someone else. This happened in real life more often than not.
Third, it is interesting to see the characters motivation albeit how twisted they are. They might seem a little 2d at times, but interesting enough to engage me. I admit there are def better character designs out there.
Fourth, I notice people are either "omg rape, Karino die!" or "Karino is so sweet". But I think it is very interesting to see his motivations. He was a psycho without emotions. The first time someone got him excited is Azusa, he didn't care if Azusa is good or not. Because Karino himself is twisted. He is just a rich kid, bored with life wanting something to excite him. This began his elaborate plan to become king. Note in his first year, he plan to be a observer first, to test the waters. Azusa on the other hand, a little naive, became king in the first year and made enemies. Very understandable. He is of low class outside of highschool and with a position of king, a once in a lifetime chance to step above everything else, of course he would take it. Only saints like Atsumu won't take it. He is the only truly Buddha in the story imo. Notice how Karino threatens to let people gang rape Azusa but he just wanna scare him into his own arms. So he could own Azusa completely. He doesn't really care for caste or anything, he just wanna mess with Azusa, it excited him. Then Atsumu arrived, basically he and Kuse both psychos are jealous that both of them hot along well and wanna mess with them. But now, the story changed slightly. Karino is having more than just excitement and obsessiveness. He is actually worried about Azusa. Hmmm... Now, the thing is, under pressure, how will he choose between protecting Azusa and maintaining his power as king? People will wanna see Azusa get punished right, especially Eno who is a higher level psycho, what decision will Karino make?
I focus my comment on the main couple only cause this is getting too long.
Also let people enjoy this story regardless if you like it or not. Liking story with twisted characters only means that you are excited in how their backstory affects their motivations and their actions. The consequences that ensues and their interaction with ppl. No one is justifying their actions. And certainly not because oh I like Karino's character, I am a psycho. Hell, plenty of ppl like Darth Vader too, does that mean all the people that liek him are going around choking ppl? He is just an interesting character.

I bet many of them don't even want to bother with this game and just scared of the big "leader" if they won't do as he says. no one wants to be bullied or suffer or make enemies. so it this you are wrong, many people follow things cause they scared to be the "different" sheep. while Azusa does not care about it.
3. still Azusa falling in love with his rapist is not making much sense, it is a fuck up yaoi logic. so at that point, the plot isn't that good. if you can even called this a plot and not a fuck up dumb trop by this point.

2. You will be surprise that majority of people are sheeps. Regardless of this story. Why do you think there are racism, sexism and other discrimination. Mob mentality. Why do you think hitler manage to kill so many? Let that sink in. Of course no one wants to be bullied, but when you are in a game where majority takes it seriously, which is a parody of real life, the author is trying to convey, you need to step on others to survive.
3. There is not one word in my comment that said anything about Azusa falling in love with Karino. I just said, I like the settings and the psychology behind it. The characters are a little 2d but I am fairly entertained and I am curious to see where it goes. You can see bad points in a story and still enjoy it. Tbh I the author gave us some scenes to show why Azusa liked Marino, it's a bit far fetched for me... But I am not gonna be angry at the author for it... Plenty of other stories to be consumed... Each have their good and bad. Overall I think this story is pretty good
has much has you say there is "majority" they will be always people that won't want or enjoy this "majority" stuff. and it has nothing to do with racism, sexism and other discrimination. remember these people have nothing to do with Azusa, they not even that care about what happened to him. it's not that they hate him or enjoy to abuse people, they just do what the "leader" say, cause they have no choice. they not a society yet, but that following the leader thing is something that happens a lot. especially in groups of people, I don't blame them either cause I doubt they have little to no choice in the matter.

The bar is so low in yaoi it's just sad. By no means this story is good or interesting. The background of characters and characters themselves are typical and tendentious, especially Karino. The side stories are just superficial, meaningless rape scenes for the purpose of smut.
Tbh characters are completely not believable. Where are suicides? Self harm? Anything? People get raped and get over it in minutes.

There are literature out there that depicts realistic PTSD after assault... And also good yaois that depict this as well.. People are free to consume them. That doesnt mean people can't enjoy this manga? It's just separate issues that are not related??

can I ask who is atsumu and kuse? I've basically went out of touch and forgot everyone besides the main couple and eno due to reading the latest chapter after so long. (Not really want to reread because this would bring a lot of sadness and I'm still reading the latest because I want to see how it gets explored for Azusa and the ending)
Omg this is such a good story! I like how the author does not shy away from very realistic struggles same sex couples face, which is very rare in yaoi. Somehow in yaoi, it is like unicorns and rainbows and everyone is okay with same sex relationships.
If the author were to want the 2nd couple to end up together. I predict the next plot point will be for Doyun to be honest with himself to salvage his love. Maybe take a leap of faith and quit his job, or not care about what people thinks even though it will be hard... So I rather he quit his job, I am sure he has decent savings now. If not, I don't think they can be together.
The thing about hojun is, it is easy for him to say he can be in a same sex relationship, but it won't be easy if he follow the same path and enter a conservative corporation. Unless he does freelance and so on, maybe he can still have the confidence to date with gwulwoo openly.
