probably since they cross bred, (dog + cat) so the birth rate is low. as for having more children, maybe the womb has to recover or something? it may have something to do with giving away the babies as well, so maybe he was, in a way, mentally preparing for it.

This manga is about "Kami" (servant) and a family of Kotodama users, (masters of the spoken word becomes reality). The Kami are made of paper and heal the wounds received by the Kotodama through bodily fluids. ( kisses or sex) "Ze" is one of my all time favorites and a 5 star read !

They are bound to their "master", because they were created to serve that 1 person. But they don't necessarily fall in love with them. A couple of the pairings are in a love-hate relationship. Some pairings are super lovey dovey ! It is a very long manga, but well worth it !
