I’m wondering why I’m still reading this… So far the plot is: something happened- and fire dude wants to keep it a secret. He flung his guide into the distant future, but his guide lost his memories in the process. Now he’s running away with his guide from the “survivors” but can only run away to places that are really obvious hideouts. Won’t tell his guide what’s going on because, you know- ignorance prevents misfortune and misunderstandings way better than a proper explanation. Maybe his guide is the last guide? Then does his guide = life itself for the remaining espers? But wait- they got guiding machines? Humanity’s doomed/over but let’s all fight to the death for great sex. And pleeeeaaase, given that sex makes up practically all of the remaining plot- we can’t leave that out! Sex SEX and even more SEEEEEXXXXX!!!!! Oh and animal abuse, rape and sex drugs = therefore more sex. Did I miss anything?
Additional thoughts: Fire dude’s guide seems weirdly unconcerned about not knowing Jack sh*t, or that his own memory is gone. Even chill people would freak out more about that. Can’t tell from the flashbacks if the guide was a manwhore or just has no choice- the f*ck is up with the guides being raped to death and the dumb @ss espers won’t try to save them? Like dude? Your life depends on f*cking guides. Why you walkin’ past that sh*t? Almost dead isn’t dead yet. Go save your humanoid batteries. This series gives me frustration headaches. Plus the plot shows up as a cameo guest star between porn segments then runs off again, like it’s scared of itself. It ain’t a groundhog. The hell is it so skittish? Guess there’s gonna be six more years of this crap, because six more weeks feels like the author did my sanity a favor. Damn.

I wish mangago could add a “dropped” list so I could know in advance if a series is something I gave up on, or just similar to something I’ve already read.
The entire plot for the whole damn series was: “They had an ongoing misunderstanding and sex- The End”
Was there any kind of conclusion for the ending? To me, it felt more like we were beginning to wrap things up for the ending, yet we weren’t at the ending itself… but it weirdly also felt like we could be gearing up for season two- the second couple’s arc (Not saying such a thing exists- that’s just how it felt) So to just end there, like it’s the end of an episode, rather than the series itself, is just…
It didn’t even have one of those dramatic monologue narrations where the character says they will keep trying hard for the future or something (like authors often place at the end of a series, whenever it lacks any kind of conclusion). Nope, just over.
So I get this feeling sometimes, while reading this series, that there’s a bizarre level of deep understanding, insight, and awareness that the characters have of each other’s inner thoughts, tendencies, and motivations that isn’t reflected anywhere in the storyline.
Basically, saying stuff like “he must be thinking ___” when nothing in the story so far has suggested he would think/feel that way. Or “that’s so typical of him” when it’s our first time seeing that behavior? Or “He must be so ___(fill in the random emotion here)___” when I, as a reader, have seen nothing in the story so far to support “that character having that emotion” would be an expectable result?
There so much of this throughout the story. It feels like most of their understands of each other were developed off screen at some point that we’re unaware of… or possibly these understandings came from the author’s mind- but without the author realizing that it’s unnatural for such deep understanding to occur without cause?
Nonetheless, I like the series. I’d say that the above is my only real criticism. The bromance is a bit- why do I feel like our MC descends from a succubus or learned the charm spell? It’s not happening between any other characters… but that’s cool in its own way. So it’s still a great series.
I find it ironic how so many people are thanking the author for their work on an aggregate website that illegally published the author’s work so that the author doesn’t get paid.
The resolution is lacking- and where is my happy family threesome? They say love beats all, but when the love is twisted then shouldn’t make up sex be the family’s saving grace?
