Is this series ever going to update again where we see something other than “better quality”? That’s not an update- that’s just a reupload. Plus there was nothing wrong with the first translation anyway. It was well done.

I have mixed feelings about this series.

In the beginning, I didn’t know there would be so many combat scenes without significant plot development. I’m NOT saying there isn’t plot development, but rather- the plot development that occurs, while considering how many chapters there are, is lacking in accordance with my preferences.

There’s great character development, humor, and skill updates that’s what’s kept me reading so far) but the plot overall has been- some powerful force is still toying with humanity, this is who the new enemy is “this time”, and this is the update for how much development upgrades our base has made “this time” = recycle, repeat, to infinity.

It kind of feels like the true plot development will likely occur, all at once, at the series’ conclusion. Please feel free to tell me if I’m wrong. I’d honestly be so happy to be wrong about that.

So I’m scrolling through mangago’s newest updates, searching for something new to give a read to. Then I click on this and scroll down to the comments…

Naw, F this. This series has 800+ chapter submissions and maybe 400+ actual chapters - this thing requires commitment dedication. I ain’t investing that much time into something with clear issues before I even start.

So it’s official… she’s dating a ghost.

I only have two real issues with Chinese manhua. First- the censorship (depending on the series this can be irrelevant) Second- the translations (my biggest gripes are the wrong use of pronouns and a tendency to avoid contractions : can’t > can not)

This particular series isn’t terrible for translations but at the same time it’s obvious that it wasn’t quality checked by a native speaker. The English is mostly correct but sounds unnatural- like most Chinese manhua.

Regardless, I’m happy to have the opportunity to read it. Since the English quality exceeds ai, I hope the translator will pursue my above complaints as possible advice for further improvement.

I started reading this with high expectations. I was certain that there was some secret worth revealing. I figured it was something at the level of a conspiracy, or a dark secret, a hidden past, secret identity- something! After all there was so much hype and the plot was based around MC learning the truth. For a while I thought, “He must be the reincarnation of the hero!” That would have been exciting.

But what? Oh yeah, your great grandpa was the hero. You have no duties to fulfill. No obligations. You’re just one of many descendants. Why did we hide it? Oh all that excessive secrecy and such was just cause I didn’t want you to feel burdened.

(Me here trying to understand why mc would feel burdened by the past of a far removed relative that most living people don’t remember personally? Like was that really something to build all this hype over? It’s not like there aren’t other descendants anyway)

So, yeah. Not a reincarnation, not a chosen one, not even special really- just the hero’s great grandson who decided to be a chef after being summoned to another world. (Which honestly would have been a better plot if that had been the point from the beginning)

I feel like author tried (and failed) to write fantasy-adventure crossed with slice of life, then gave up during the last chapter and said, “yeah, I couldn’t actually come up with a good ending for the adventure part” and here we are!

In the beginning this story seemed to be about a girl who discovered that she had a rare power to see and speak to spirits. That power seemed like the main plot, while the romance seemed like a sub plot, then the magic was going to be a support for the spirit powers part… but what happened?

The plot regarding the spirits and her related powers has gone on vacation to “oblivion” while romance has become the focus and magic is like the antagonist to romance? Anyway, I feel the plot got lost somewhere or went through a stage of reimagining its own identity? I don’t especially like this new self it’s presenting.

Why isn’t this over yet? I feel like the story’s completion came and went, yet somehow it’s still going. Even feels like we’re in for “season 2- the sequel”

While the series is good so far… it feels like the acting scenes are poorly expressed. I mean, myself as the reader watching those scenes, the acting doesn’t seem very impressive.

Maybe it’s because I’ve read this genre before (with a nearly identical plot even - sucked into another world and forced to “live” the role while the cameras running) but the acting scenes don’t make me go “wow such impressive acting” the way the characters in the series are doing.

Plus many of the acting scenes are practically omitted. Idk… I like the series but it could be done better. Just my opinion though.

In tribute to chapters 81 and 82- My darling sweetheart chapters! Where have you been all my life? Don’t you know I’ve been longing for you even before I knew you existed? I feel like my soul has become one with savage garden and it’s got me here in my knees thanking author god for your blessed and divine existence! BEST 2 CHAPTERS IN THE WHOLE DAMN SERIES!

There’s another upload of this story in mangago under a different title, “ Raffine’s Plan: Save My Favorite Character” It has waaaay better translations but it’s one single chapter behind in uploads as of August 2024.

Seeing her husband talking to his exfiance, while standing in a hallway (not some bedroom), and the ex is grabbing his wrist (they’re not holding hands) while he’s fully dressed in proper day attire (meanwhile ex is in nightgown) my mind would assume the bitch was making one-sided moves on my man but she just:
“sob sob ╥﹏╥ they’re having an affair”
To me it feels like- have some damn faith in your man. Also don’t assume before asking and don’t cry before hearing his explanation. My God- you didn’t catch them kissing or hugging- they’re not even holding hands! Just what kind of scum to you see your husband as that you can’t even wait to hear his explanation before assuming the worst.

People keep blaming censorship for the ugly @ss spandex sleeveless turtlenecks but someone needs to explain to me why the author couldn’t just give them a one piece animal hide instead.

Look up caveman costume on Google images. Most of those costumes aren’t Celtic skirts for anthropomorphic men. They’re, indeed, one piece animal hide outfits. Please don’t blame CCP for “if I can’t do it how I originally wanted then I’m just not gonna care” attitude the author has been using lately.

She bothers to give six packs to all the males in spandex, you won’t convince me she’s doing this to save time or effort.

I have a new entry prepared for my death note… it’s right after flixscans. Some of you know what I mean.

I’ve seen a bunch of different comments on Reddit and other places. Some said the series was on a prolonged break due to wrist injury, others said they replaced the artist and would be back this year, another said original platform screwed with the author’s paycheck and so they quit…

Also checked this dumb@ss vpmanga website and saw that the series doesn’t even exist there- let alone chapter 176.

1- They didn’t know what metal even was- like a year ago? There is no way these beasts who wear poorly stitched fur hides for clothing have significant crafting skills, I’m positive they never learned mathematics, so where did those geometrically based helmets and armor come from?

2- didn’t Parker say that the houses in beast city were built long ago by their ancestors and that No one knows how they did that… Winston just built a castle without a blueprint- one that has multiple stories at that.

3- They haven’t even invented the most basic hunting traps yet but they have the agricultural talent to grow rice… wtf time period is this?

4- they haven’t invented cloth yet, yet they have managed to mass produce those ugly spandex shirts, that have no bottom half of the time- instead they just merge with the characters flesh and souls! Plus why tf do the clothes transform? This isn’t X-men! They aren’t using paranormal abilities here, nor magic, it’s just some genetic ability to change shape- how the f*ck does that result in the temporary pocket dimension effect on their attire? Why does it reemerge with ready equip powers?
