It looks like there is a world will being imposed on everyone. Except for the OG ML and pinkie people seem to be breaking out of it the more they are in contact with the MC. Every time we see that broken glass/reflection it is them breaking free from the spell/brainwashing of the plot. It seems to have stronger control over the OG FL. She noticed something is wrong but she hasn't been able to break free. It seems being with the OG ML has the ability to boost control over her.
