I think the author might have realized the slightly “rapey” feel of the beginning was not very cool but it was too late to change it all up so she/he prob decided to redeem it as much as possible.

The “drunk pregnancy” joke is usually used in movies to have a “haha omg” type of reaction on the audience. I remember watching a comedy movie about a girl finding out she was pregnant after a party and went on a journey to find the dad.
Yes it might sound a bit weird and rapey for some nonAsian ppl but some of the jokes in Asia may be pretty insensitive and I dun blame them for them tbh.
We progress slower in some parts like these than western countries.
